Katrin provided a great tour with interesting information and insights. We were able to squeeze additional sights in being a private tour. Katrin also gave some great dinner suggestions for after the tour. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience from start to finish
Mariel was friendly and informative. She led us through the old town to the markets and beyond. She fully explained each of the foods we tried. And there was plenty (we actually shared our tastes and there was still left overs for us to take home). We finished back in the old town for dessert. Before she left us she gave us an exhaustive list of places to see and places to eat. Just fabulous.
Very interesting tour to get to know the city and its history.
Our guide, a history teacher on summer break, couldn't have been better. He listened to what we wanted to see, was easy to have a conversation with and was very professional. We were only there for the day and were amazed at how much we were able to see and do. Couldn't recommend this tour and this guide more!
Walked around old town and drove around highlights of Tallinn. Kert was a wealth of information and very knowledgable about the area and the history of Estonia. Great value - loved the tour
Mariel kept me busy for almost 5 hours, showing me the highlights of Tallinn Old Town during the walking tour, then we drove to Kadriorg where we enjoyed a nice tea and to Pirita. For her first tour, I think she did pretty well and I really enjoyed learning about Estonian history, culture and more generally life in Estonia. Such a beautiful country that I would love to further discover. Thank you Mariel!
Mariel was very warm, pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and accommodating tour guide. We had amazing experience with her during our food tour day. We were large group and it was not easy to please us :) But she did an amazing job! Absolutely loved our food tour with Mariel and will definitely recommend her to anyone
Our guide, Kert, was amazing. He is a history teacher and went above and beyond!! He even stayed well over the time for the tour. You can tell he loves what he does. We keep using his quote “Life is Life”

Tour guide was very knowledgeable about Tallinn. She provided great information about Tallinn history!
Our tour guide, Marie, was excellent! Her knowledge of the facts was obvious, and she related them well. In addition, she let us get to know her as a person along with her culture. Several people on the tour told me she was the best guide they ever had.
We were on a cruise and wanted to make the most of our time in Tallinn. We certainly made the most of it! Our guide was lovely, and showed us so much of this lovely city. I definitely want to go back. Only marking 4 stars, as the pick up was stressful. I'd specifically asked for pick up from the cruise port as my Mother-in-law has limited mobility. Half an hour after we were supposed to be picked up, and after numerous phone calls I was finally told we needed to walk outside of the cruise port to meet our guide. Better communication and instructions from the office would have been appreciated in advance (thank goodness I had a phone or we would never have made our tour). Highly recommend - just be clear on pick up location.
Simon was fabulous! Enjoyed the tour, knowledgable and his company! Spoke about the old and the new! Thank you!
Eight of us booked the 5 hour tour while we were visiting on a cruise. It was our best tour with the best guide. Chris picked us up and dropped us off at the cruise terminal. Chris was informative and passionate as he told us about Tallinn history while walking us through the old town and pointing out important buildings and landmarks. The town is beautiful, and the history is interesting and sad at times, but that of resilient people. We then got into the van went to Kadriorg Palace. Chris dropped us off at a great cafe and then drove up to the other end of the park and walked back. While he did that we ordered our pastries and sat down and rested for a bit. He caught up with us and we all finished up and made the walk through the park to the palace. We walked further to the presidential palace where the president actually lives. Unbelievably we were able to talk right in front of it. There were a couple of guards but there was not a sense that they need to worry. We ended with a drive to an up and coming neighborhood in Tallinn that is repurposing old buildings and making high end apartments. We were back to the ship with an hour to spare which is how we like it. The day was wonderful. Chris was amazing. As we walked by the cruise groups with 50 people, we kept saying…. This was the way to go.
Excellent tour and guide. Booked on the strength of the reviews here, all accurate. Our guide (Liisi) was knowledgeable and did not hesitate to offer her personal perspective on Estonian history, including even her own grandparents' experience during WWII. Very engaging in answering our group's many questions about Estonia today (economy, demographics, etc). Highly recommended.
Great tour. Learned about history of Tallinn as well as the Estonian people. Our guide was energetic and funny. Highly recommend
We had Loviise and despite that it was really cold and drizzling rain the whole time, she kept the spirit up and told joke after joke about Tallinn and Estonia.
We went for the free walking tour with Liine, it was brilliant! She made sure we had the best time and learned a lot about the city! Totally recommend it!
I am a local myself and took my guest on the Tallinn Old Town tour and learned as much as my guest did. Enjoyed the stories and the walk in the old town. Very happy about our tour guide Liisi as well!
Kris our guide was so knowledgeable and extremely accommodating to what we want to know and do. We have learned a lot about Tallin with the old town tour, the area of revival where the train tracks are, the area by the port and the contrasting memorials built by the Soviets and the one built by the locals to commemorate those who were tortured and died from the atrocities and the presidential palace and the Kardiog palace that now serves as the museum. Thanks Kris! Hope to come Back in better weather to explore the Lahemaa park.
This was by far the best surprise of our quick trip. the five hour tour flew by. Really glad we booked this. Our guide was very informative and accommodating for an older person in our group. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a great background for the various buildings and sights we toured. I would highly recommend the five hour tour if you can. It really made all of our group want to comeback and explore more for our next trip.
The tour was interesting also for locals from Tallinn. We learned new facts about history and heard interesting legends. Our guide was very nice and spoke very good English.
Amazing old town. Deserves UNESCO heritage designation
We had Igor who gave a really informative tour. He answered all my questions about culture, language, emigration, history, communism. Such a complex history for such a small country. Really enjoyed the two hours - he kept us safe from the rain and managed to do the tour in between downpours! Thanks so much, a great introduction to Tallinn on my first day.
We had a fantastic private tour of the old city with our guide. She was so knowledgeable and patient. She knew a lot of history and had great recommendations for us. I’d recommend this for anyone.
Katrin was our local guide in Tallinn through Traveller and she was not only VERY knowledgeable, but an easy going and enjoyable person to spend 4 hours with. It was obvious that Katrin knew so much about the place she calls home. We loved every minute!!! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! Easy to book online!
Our guide was highly knowledgeable and very personable. Her insights into Tallinn history and Estonian culture really helped us to understand the people of your country. Many thanks!
Tallinn is the focal point of our cruise ship itinerary, so we hired a private guide per Rick Steven's book recommendation. Uku, a Thermal Enginerring gradurate student, showed up and gave us an unforgettable tour fully of history, stories, and pride, a highlight of our entire trip. Highly recommend!!!
Katrin was our guide in Tallinn. She met us at the pier early and had everything arranged. Our group included my wife and I and our niece who is in a wheelchair. The vehicle was a perfect fit. We definitely saw highlights and hidden gems. Katrin is a wealth of knowledge. We got caught in a rain shower but that did not stop the tour. She was able to show us several things from the car and provided historical and personal details that made our tour great. I would recommend this to everyone.
Our group of 8 people just returned from our Baltic Cruise. One of the highlights of our holiday was our Best of Tallinn Tour provided by Traveller Tours. This was a walking tour of the Old Town combined with a driving tour to some areas outside of the usual crowded tourist areas. Our guide, Kert, was excellent. Being a teacher, he was able to provide a lot of historical information to our group in a a way that was both interesting and fun for everyone. Tallinn is a beautiful city that is rich in history. Therefore, a tour like this was extremely worthwhile as opposed to simply walking around without obtaining all of the information that we learned. In addition to the standard "touring," we stopped at a local restaurant for lunch. When the tour was finished, Kert gave us useful information for things to do on our own in the old town prior to returning to our ship. The booking process was seamless and the price was excellent value for the quality that we received. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tallinn and would enthusiastically use them again in the future.
Thanks to the tour guide Karol (hope he’ll forgive me for spelling his name wrong), I had the loveliest time around Tallinn. He was very entertaining, knowledgeable and passionate about the city. He’s one of the best story tellers I’ve encountered! I highly recommend his tour
We were pleased even to get a tour since we reserved sort of at the last minute. With limited time via a ferry from Helsinki, we mostly just wanted a nice overview of Old City Tallin and some perspective on life there. Our guide, Harriet, kindly met us at the ferry terminal and provided a very high quality walking tour, accommodating some moderate physical challenges on my part. We had time at the end for some exploring on our own and a great bowl of fish soup at a restaurant she recommended. Terrific. Highly recommend.
Excellent tour in the Kalamaja area, visiting the Balti Jamaal Turg market and the Telliskivi Creative district. This was a great introduction to Estonian produce, foods and drinks with plenty of different stops to try a variety of foods. Hanna was a great guide, really easy company and willing to answer all my questions about the culture and history of Estonia. I had a really good time in her company and enjoyed all the foods and drinks that I tried. La Moo ice cream was a great place to end the tour!
Marju knows Tallinn's and Estonia's history very well, and clearly loves sharing it with visitors. She's friendly and is great guide - flexible according to people's interests and really interesting to talk with about living in Tallinn. Highly recommended.
Nice and friendly guide who could answrr all our questions.
Igor was an excellent guide, well versed in all things Tallinn (Estonian history, politics, architecture, language, Old Town, culture, the Gilds, Parliament, McDonalds, etc) and fluent in English. Highly competent and thorough. Tour Co recommended by Maarja.
We had a great time with Thomas our guide. It was really fun and his knowledge was excellent!!
Raimo is a historian with a terrific sense of humor. He is very knowledgeable and able to answer all kinds of questions. He is an engaging speaker that brings history alive. His English is so good I had a hard time believing he was Estonian and not American!
We had a wonderful time with Chris! Informed us of the history and politics of Estonia and Tallinn, in particular!!!
Helpful and thorough introduction to Estonia and Tallinn's past and present historical and political conditions told with humour. Raimo answered all our questions in a considered way. Thanks!
Our tour was very informative. We got an overview of Estonia’s history and culture, as well as stories about Tallinn. Our guide steered us to a wonderful restaurant where locals go for lunch.
First off Maibel is the best. She took us around to multiple places that we would not have explored and tried great foods along the way. Maibel is a historian so she knows and appreciates what she it talking about. We started in the Balti Jaam Market food hall with some meats at a small shop. Next was some meat and fruit pies that were so large we shared them. They were phenomenal. We tried the curds, but they were over all not to our tastes, but we could appreciate them. We went to a place close by for the best tomato soup ever eaten. Next up was Herring at a local place. to finish off we had 2 desserts: La Muu ice cream and then a cream and berry dessert. It was wonderful, tasty and enlightening. Loved every minute.
Our party of 5 requested a last minute tour. Traveller Tours was very accommodating and quickly responded with an available guide. The tour guide was amazing, excellent story teller and knows the history of Estonia and Old Town very well. She spoke well, was funny, and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend this tour.
IT was a wonderful trip by food and bike.

I took three teenagers for the tour and they loved it! Our tour guide Mirjam did a fantastic job of keeping everyone engaged in the cold and rainy evening. I recommend this tour for everyone. Thank you!
We went on the tour for a team event and it was really fun. Not only the guide was very knowledgable but also really friendly and funny making the whole experience super pleasant. I absolutely recommend this tour not only to tourists, even to those who live in Tallinn, there are so many interesting stories that I had no idea about. We learned a lot from the city we live in while having fun :) Thank you Loviise
Our Guide Kurt (History Teacher) met us at the head of the pier. We drove in to town, where we walked through the upper part of town to see all of the look out points. All the while, he gave us some history of the area and anecdotal stories of the significance of each spot. We then made our way into the lower town and got a good insight in to how Tallinn evolved throughout the last 500 or so years. Then we drove to the Presidential Palace. As we walked through the grounds and the gardens around them. Kurt gave us a lot of good insight in to how Tallinn evolved through the different eras of rulers and occupations over the years. We went to the outdoor Amphitheater where they hold concerts and community singing events. Since he is a local he had some great stories about events he had attended. Afterward, we went to the WWII memorial. As a history teacher he was well versed in the historical significance of Tallinn, and how so many countries moved in and used Tallinn as a strategic location. I highly recommend this tour, if you are in Tallinn, or Estonia in general. Kurt, specifically was a wealth of information, and was a great tour guide.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to present the complexities of Estonia 's past in a balanced and often new perspective
Igor explained Tallinn’s unique history in an interesting and easily understandable way. Highly recommend as a starting point for learning about Tallinn and Estonia.
Our tour was amazing! Our tour guide, Mia, was really fun. Although we have been to Tallinn many times and we know quite a few ghost stories about the town, all the stories were new to us. We learnt a lot about the history of Tallinn, and discovered quite a few new places.
It was our guide's first food tour - and he did a great job! We ate our way through Tallinn market, a Soviet style canteen, Hipster heavan in Telliskivi & finished with desert and Vana Tallinn at "Pööbel". Friendly Igor spoke impecable English and knew absolutely everything - we had a wonderful time!
First, Loviise is a wonderful guide, has perfect English and is very enthusiastic :-) Second, the places she took us were interesting and gave a good overview of what Estonians like / used to eat. Maybe in the future you could also include or offer a local beer, especially with the hot meal. And, Pööbel was fine, but not really in Kalamaja ... All in all, we really enjoyed this discovery trip!
Line was brilliant. It was snowing, cold but she had really high energy and delivered the tour so well. Stories were entertaining and she was very lively. Thank you!
Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly.
Nous avons adoré ce tour, notre guide a été très intéressante en agrémentant sa présentation avec des anecdotes personnelles ou familiales. Vraiment un super tour.
Our private guide was fantastic
It's was an interesting Meander through the town. For a lactose intolerant eater it was a difficult journey but our engaging young guide turned a testing evening into a lovely exploration of tastes and places.
Very nice tour at night in the Old Town. Lots of legends and history details pretty well narrated. I did not see the time pass by. I highly recommend this tour, which is a very useful complement to the free daily tour at midday (with other spots to see).
Great stories. She did a good job relating the stories to the various nationalities in the group of tourists.
Cold weather, creepy stories
Me and my two friends enjoyed The ghosts and legends of Tallin tour very much. It was a fun introduction to Tallin's peculiar history and strange stories. Our guide Mirjam was excellent and she spoke clear English, she is a great storyteller. Personally I would have liked to hear a few more spooky ghost stories - like actual sightings, haunted houses etc. But this was entertaining combo as well. Would definitely recommend this tour for other travellers!
IT is a must for all city trippers ,the guide was very good and gave a lot of interesting info and history.
Brilliant quide and awesome stories. Our quests from Finland were really delighted.
The tour was awesome!! We came across numerous buildings and statues, and each of them had a different (sometimes cruel) story to tell. Igor brings these legends with enthousiasm, passion and even a sinister sense of humor. :) You'll be sucked into the stories as if you are living them. Keep up the good work! When attending this tour after sunset and in cold temperatures, the cruel medieval stories really come to its best! Afterwards we ate in a medieval themed restaurant (peppersack) to make the experience complete. What a night! When having a few spare hours in Tallinn, don't hesitate and book this tour. Relaly. You won't regret.
Miriam was a native Estonian with extremely good language skills - she kept up a great commentary throughout the morning tour. We saw the major sights and did a fair amount of walking but she tuned it to our place and interests. If you were considering the package day tour from Helsinki, I'd strongly suggest this and booking your own ferry connections online - it was easy, cheaper and had better options like "comfort class" for the ferry.
A fun way to spend an evening in Tallin.
Our guide was friendly, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Thanks for the great tour
The two of us had a walking tour of old Tallinn with Julia. She has great knowledge of the area and the buildings. As well she was very personable and we enjoyed our time with her. We asked for a restaurant that served typical Estonian food and she suggested Grandma's which turned out to be great. Thanks Julia
Great guide. Fascinating and fun stories about the buildings and history of Tallinn. We would recommend it to anyone with a evening to spare in Tallinn.
We were in Tallinn for one day on a cruise stop and wanted to see more than just the Old Town, and this tour was perfect for that. We met our guide at the cruise port and started with a guided walking tour of the Old Town early in the morning when it was quiet and then picked up the bikes and went for a ride around modern Tallinn, which was just as interesting. Our guide was personable and informative (with excellent English), and we all had a great time! Highly recommended.
We booked a privat tour, so our guide picked us up right at the port and took us for the walking tour through the old town. She showed us around, explained the history to us and answerd all our questions, so that we got a glimps of Estonian life and culture. We chose to do the biking tour through the old industrial and Kalamaja district which turned our to be really beautiful. The only negativ point was that we originally wanted a German tour but due to a staff problem they couldn't offer that to us. In the end that was alright and our english tour was amazing.
Our guide was very, very good. He even sang for us in the amphitheatre a snipit of the Estonia anthem. His knowledge was incredible for such a young man. Very polite, easy going and highly appreciated for his service.
We hoped a very interesting and informative tour coma Hanna-Britt answered all our questions with high competence.
Our party of four had a wonderful tour of Tallinn old town with our expert guide. She really know her history and brought the whole experience to life
This way of visiting Tallinn is probably the best way to explore Tallinn! We (family of 4) got a lot of information about the history and everyday life of the Estonians and we loved the personal talk we have had with Hanna.
We fell in love with Tallin while before we knew nothing about the city and very little about Estonia. Our guide was remarkably knowledgeable, was wonderfully personable, plus a great sense of humor. Take this tour and discover beautiful Tallin!
We were a party of 6 and had a private walking tour with Helen, 26, a native of Tallinn. Helen was very articulate and fun and she knew a lot about Estonian history. We visited many countries on our trip and I think Estonia was one of my favorites because of the walking tour! We went to many landmarks, we walked to two overlooks, we went to the upper city and the lower city, and we stopped here and there to listen the history and stories. We would definitely recommend this walking tour and Helen!
Fascinating and fun
Such a fun and filling way to experience the culture of Estonia. Helen was amazing and made our day even better!! Thanks for the “Kama”it was our favorite. Can’t wait to make this at home. Helen has such love for her country and knowledge of the culture.
Mirjam is a happy go lucky person who expertly guided our group on our walking tour. She made sure everyone was accounted for and was very accommodating. She is well experienced on Tallinn's history and culture.
Hanna our guide went truly out of her way to make our tour both interesting and exciting. She shared many of her own experiences that helped us understand better both the food and culture of Estonia as well as life in Tallinn. We strongly recommend this tour with Hanna.
My husband and I scheduled a walking tour for just the 2 of us. The price was reasonable, so we were not sure what kind of experience we would have - turned out to be a good one! Our guide was young, cute and very knowledgeable. It was so nice to be able to have conversations with someone who lived there. She was upbeat and charming - much more enjoyable than a group walking tour where the guide is trying to be funny all the time
We really enjoyed our tour. She gave us some inside scoop about the history of Tallin as well as what it is like to grow up in Tallin currently. Our guide was very flexible with the various walking abilities in our group.
We took a walking and bicycle tour thru Tallin. Our guide, Maria, was great and provided interesting stories about the old town Highly recommend
Perfect guide, nice girl
Both ships (Star and MegaStar) are very well equipped.
Great Tour. Nice local scout. 👍👍👍
We enjoyed our tour and are very glad we did it. Many articles we read said to do Tallin on your own...we would have never gotten so much out of our visit if we had done that. Going out to the memorial for the Estonians that were sent to Siberia was a great stop as it showed us the hard times that the Estonian people went through which was something new for us to learn about. Andres was a very good guide and would answer any questions we had. He clearly knew a lot about the country and provided an interesting perspective on Estonian life. However at several points throughout the tour while we walked between stops he would be very quiet not telling us anything new. We had to ask him about things for him to share the information which was the only bad thing I have to say about him. The only other reason we gave it 4 instead of five stars was the lack of structure at first. When we got in the van he asked us what we wanted to see, but we had never been there before so we had no idea. We had thought it was a specific tour but that was not necessarily the case. Andres still adjusted to our lack of direction and everywhere he brought us was great. Additionally the lunch spot had a great selection of Estonian food which was delicious and Andres explained the backgrounds behind the different dishes. We were very happy with the tour and would recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about such an interesting city.
Marju gave us a very good introduction to the old town of Tallinn. She is a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide.
This walking tour was so easy to organise and it went just as we had requested. Our tour guide, Igor, met us at the requested place at the requested time. He was very well presented and was easy to understand. Igor was very knowledgeable about the city and gave us a very interesting and comprehensive tour, answering all of our extra questions. Nothing was too much trouble and he also helped us with our lunch options. Our group of 3 thoroughly recommend this tour.
Our guide Maria was awesome. She was very attentive to our desire to stop often for photos. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Her English was very fluent and easy to understand. It was an amazing day in a place that I now love!
Talliin was quite the highlight of our Baltic Cruise. We met Mia from our ship and visited the Old Town area on foot. The history and stories were quite amazing. Mia was quite knowledgeable , funny and just very lovely. She also answered all our questions well, and showed us the best cafe to have coffee with a cinnamon roll. What more can you ask for.
It was fun traveling with Helen and Uku. Helen showed us nice spots in Tallinn and we got to know the stories behind the sights. That makes them so much more special! They were friendly and were great company. We saw glimpses of the Sound Festival. Uku showed us a great restaurant for us to grab a bite. Lastly Helen took some great photos of us!
Mia, our tour guide was knowledgeable and interesting and gave us a great tour including the history behind it. Loved it.
Our guide picked us up at the cruise ship. We had a slight difficulty finding her because we did not realize we needed to walk outside the wire fence to find her. But she was right there on time. She took eight of us in a van, and drove us to some locations that were outside old town. She spoke excellent English, and was a safe and careful driver. She was very pleasant to spend the day with. The memorial to the persons who died in Siberia was amazing, and well worth seeing, She had an excellent grasp of the issues and history of the memorial. Seeing the presidential palace and the the other country palace we could have skipped. Just exterior views of buildings, not necessary. I would have preferred more time walking around Old Town, learning about the architecture and hearing more of the history of Estonia. Because we spent time having lunch (which we needed to do.... a midday tour), our time in town was more limited.
Our guide Andres did a fantastic job of exploring the area around Tallinn as well as providing a detailed tour of the old town. Andres brought out the history, the culture and soul of the Estonians. He shared his perspective of the history of his country. The area outside of Tallinn was as fascinating as the old town. The Festival area, the Memorial and the Maritime Museum were meaningful, important sites. Kudos to him for bringing out the spirit of the country and allowing us to fall in love with the country and the people.
We spent two hours with a very pleasant young woman named Maria seeing the key sites in the old town. She provided us with some historical perspectives that helped us to appreciate Tallinn and Estonia in general.
Walking tour through Tallinn Old Town was a new experience thanks to our funny and witty guide. We didn't get bored at all. Learning new things about Tallinns recent history and hearing stuff from a local point of view was refreshing and Our guide knew a lot of things. Some of the jokes didn't land due to similarities of our countries cultures. We had fun and recommend tour with local guide to all who wants to know more about Tallinn than just historybook details.
Julia’s discussion of the history and the architecture of Tallinn was outstanding.
Very pleasant and knowledgeable guide; well-thought out itinerary.
Love Tallin
We enjoyed the private tour wit Rai. Our dedicated guide. Interesting, educating, lot of knowledge and curiosity.
We learned a lot about the historical stories, the estonian people and how all this influenced the food. Furthermore we discovered new places and how estonians are living. We strongly recommmend this tour.
Interesting, informative and enjoyable food tour. From markets to restaurants to food stalls...tgis tour takes you on an Estonian/Russian exoerience. Highly recommend.
My wife and I booked the old town bike and walking tour of Tallinn to start only a few hours after our arrival by ferry. It proved to be a great orientation to the city, as well as providing an overview of the history and culture of Estonia. Our guide, Marju, was excellent- well spoken, well informed and fun to be with. Our tour started with an easy bike ride to the eastern part of Tallinn, including the president’s house and the song fest stage, where we likely would not have visited on our own. Once back in the old town, we dropped off the bikes and continued our history lesson on foot, with a thorough coverage of the inner city. Our four hours with Marju really set us up well for the next few days in Tallinn.
We did a private 4 hour biking and walking tour of Tallin with Maria as our guide during a port stop in Tallin on our Baltic Cruise. We had a wonderful day and were very pleased with our tour. It was nice to see some of the less touristy parts of Tallin as well as to tour the Old Town.
We had Andres as our guild and requested to go out to visit some of the lesser known places, He took us around to all of them and much more. Had great suggestions and after drove us back to the old town for a historical walking tour. He spoke English very will with a cool accent. :) Couldn’t have asked for anything better!
Our guided tour was funny. Sometimes, however, we would have wished for a little more seriousness. E.g. for our taste the remarks about the medieval executions were too many fun stories and also too extensive - one joke about these sad topic would have been enough. Nevertheless we enjoyed the tour and we say thank you to our tour guide.
The tour was great and our guide Helen was an absolute delight. Her stories and storytelling really brought the spooky history back to life. Thank you so much!
We had a very good tour of Tallinn Old Town with Helen. She did an amazing job explaining Estonian history and the significance of things we were seeing. We had a personal tour with her, which I would highly recommend. Beyond seeing the key points in the Old Town, she gave us great advice on other places to see in Tallinn on our trip. I'd also state that she is passionate about her country and her town and this really translates in her tour.
Our guide, Ray, was excellent. On this tour, you will learn things you will not learn on a regular walking tour. You find out about the dark history of the buildings you have passed. These legends are based on history and told in a fun easy way to understand. This tour would be engaging for teenagers as well. Ray, who is an historian, was also able to answer various questions we had about Tallinn and Estonian history that were not related to ghosts and legends which was an added bonus.
Six of us did the tour on Monday with the wonderful guide, Mia. Young but incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, Mia took us under the skin of Tallinn and we tried Russian food (soup and the ubiquitous potato salad), fabulous ice cream, different meats and bread, flavoured cream cheeses, fish salad, a traditional dessert and liqueur! All for €49 in 3.25 hours. Great value and we learnt so much about Estonian history as well as food traditions and local delicacies. We would never have found the food halls which were well worth a visit- we revisited for street food lunch the following day! Highly recommend the tour.
We spent 3 hours with Maria in a walking tour and it really made our brief stay in Tallinn enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Showed us everything we wanted to see and more.
The "Ghosts & Legends" tour was instructive and fun. It's also worth participating when it rains!
Great guides this year too! Perfect
Ray was a wonderful guide. Funny, informative and quite knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour and highly recommend it. Now we know where Tallin is and even a little bit about Estonia!
I enjoyed the tour very much! There were a lot of very interesting dark stories (some ghost stories, some based on actual history) about various places in the Old Town, and our guide was fun and enthusiastic throughout, throwing in many quirky details. Would definitely recommend! (Just as a note, I always love to see a guide in some sort of historical costume, but I totally get that that's often just not possible. Even so, maybe a suggestion for the future...)
The food tour was great...Helen was not only tried her best to explain about food but also gave an interesting overview of Estonian Culture...restaurants/eateries selected for the tour were great too... overall it was fun and would definitely recommend it to every first time visitor.
We were the only two on this tour with Helen, a friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed blinis with whitefish roe, sour cream and sprats at Poppy Seeds, followed by a very filling visit to the pastry shop where we had TWO huge pastries each! The next stop was a main meal with chicken and pork shashlik in a Russian pub - quite an experience. Very very full now, we visited a renovated market to buy some Kalev sweets to take home. The last stop was at a modern pub where we enjoyed a typical dessert made of ground grain, berries and whipped cream washed down by Vana Tallinn liqueurs. This was a good tour seeing a Tallinn suburb where we observed regeneration sympathetic to local character and went to eateries we would not have visited on our own. We thought that the food was good, though I have to say that the pastries at the second stop were too much! Heleen was a lovely, outgoing and sociable young woman - our experience was enhanced by her enthusiasm and interest in us.
We went on two tours with this company: a free historical walking tour and a paid ghost tour. The tour guides are very knowledgeable, funny, and entertaining. Both tours were different and had almost no overlap, so it was nice to go on both to get different experiences and see more of the city.
The tour was a fun way to learn new facts of the city, the buildings and the history of Tallinn. We really enjoyed! Our guide was marvelous, she could really make the history alive. The tour was little over 90 minutes, which was just perfect length for a chilly night. The walk is not too long and only a moderate amount of stairs. Would highly recommend!
Marju was a fantastic tour guide who had great knowledge of Tallin and Estonia. The 3 hours was perfectly timed and we covered lots of sites. We would highly recommend.
light hearted but exciting and interesting tour of the Old Town at night - and the various horrors that have befallen many an unlucky person over the centuries!
Makesure you wrap up if you do this in Winter. It was a great tour, but I was so cold, I was glad for the end hot drink to warm me up, at the end Good walk across Old Town with a bit of history.
Our tour guide was very engaging and informative. Our teens enjoyed asking questions about Tallinn's history and Estonia's lifestyle. She was mindful of our time and diet constraints and helped us find a great restaurant after the tour was over. All of us had a wonderful time and will cherish the pleasant memories of Tallinn. Thank you
Tallinn is such a charming town and we are so happy we made the day trip from Helsinki to visit Tallinn in Dec 2018. Our guide Kert is a knowledgeable, warm and accomodating guide who is patient even with little children. He was friendly and fabulous and took great care of us. He showed us around Tallinn Old Town the way a local could and we wish we have more time to explore more of Tallinn. We couldn't recommend this walking tour enough. Thanks Kert!
Really interesting tour which covers lots of picturesque spots in the old town but most of all Ray was a great tour guide!
Highly recommend this two hour walkabout in the old town of Tallinn. Our guide Mirjam, a professional guide with extremely intresting way of telling stories, taught me many new historical and other nice-to-know detals about Tallinn. We could have listened to her stories all night! This tour was the highlight of our two day stay in town.
Was lucky enough to catch this tour while we were in Tallinn. Our guide Ray was extremely knowledgable and fun; the walk lasted just under two hours taking in most of the old town as the sun set adding to the eerie feel of the tour. Highly recommended if you happen to be visiting Tallinn and are interested in an alternative guided tour.
Test
The stories give an interesting look into Estonian culture. The stories are a mix of ghost stories and darker historical anecdotes but regardless of whether they were fact or fiction, I learned more about how Estonians view themselves and their city.
We loved this tour- our guide did a fantastic job customizing this to our needs and making sure we did not get stuck with the crowds
We scheduled a 2-hour walking tour. Julia was very good and informative about the history of the city and its architecture. Unfortunately, it was a very rainy Sept 17 when we were in the town. The only suggestion from our group was we did not get inside any buildings, except for one church which only teachers or pastors were permitted in the altar area. I should have been more specific about what we would see and if it included going inside (other than those that had an entrance fee). Generally, under the weather circumstances, Julia was very interesting and fun. She led us to a great Tallin eatery for lunch for bread and soup to warm us up!
Loved Tallinn, the number of tourists is incredible, streets were blocked, I felt there should be sheep dogs to herd them along LOL! As we were on a private tour our guide Jelena kept us ahead of the pack and seemed to know where to be to avoid the worst crowds. She was friendly and knowledgeable. I was sad to see people taking photos during Mass at the Orthodox Church, others were talking. I think the church should be closed during services, after all they are not charging an entrance fee.
Young energetic guide, totally into wanting everyone to have a great time. We had a fascinating 2 hour walk around the city listening to intriguing tales of Tallinn
We were honored to have Liine as a tour guide for a short time in Tallinn. She was an absolute delight and we enjoyed spending time with her. She was extremely knowledgeable of Tallinn and the highlights of the city. Her wit and charm was infectious. I would highly recommend anyone going to Tallinn to sign up with Liine and use www.traveller.ee to book a tour. The entire staff has been supportive and attentive to our request. Our responses were quickly answered and addressed. To be honest, 5 stars is not enough to give Liine and Traveller.ee - they deserve 10 stars. Thank you for making our experience in Tallinn a special memory.
Ray was waiting for us as promised. He led our group of eight on an educational tour of Tallinn, keeping our interest by personalising the town's history and comparing old to new.
Our guide was funny, very knowledgeable and had a grear way to make our tour fun. The time passed by so quickly and the placed he showed us were stunning. Thank you for making this a memorable day.
Being from the USA I was skeptical of communicating with a company with an email ending in .ee. But I was proven so wrong. All my emails were answered clearly and promptly usually within a few hours. I was so impressed and this made me comfortable to book the tour. Upon arrival at the cruise port we were immediately greeted by Andres our guide. Andres was great!! He took us everywhere we wanted to go and then some. His explanations were clear and his knowledge about the area and its history was expansive. We started off driving to the various places then walked within the city. Although the tour was technically over Andres then drove us back to the ship. Once back on board our ship we compared notes with other passengers and found that we saw and did twice as much as any of them. Wow. Such a great value! I would absolutely recommend Traveller Tours again and again.
Very nice Tour. Good Details about the City. Thank you for the two hours walk with interesting informations.
We will always remember Tallinn as our guide made sure we saw everything. We really enjoyed the ambience of the city.
Had a really nice tour with Laura. She was very knowledgeable. Also, great sights on the way. Highly recommend this tour.
Such a great way to see Tallinn on bike and on foot. Our guide was fantastic. Gracious and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
We so enjoyed our tour, our guide Christian was both informative and amusing. He bought Tallinn's past to life - very much recommended.
Nils was great. Full of knowledge and able to answer all of our random and not so random questions about Talinn and Estonia. Witty and off beat at times. Steered us away from the tourist traps but hit the fundamentals.
We had a really great afternoon taking this food tour. We got lots (really lots, we couldn't even finish everything) of great, tasty food and got to know a lot about Estonian cuisine and culture. Beside this, it was also a lot of fun. Our guide Nils was really open and friendly and answered all our questions and we had interesting conversations with him and our fellow tourists. It was really like a interesting pub crawl (or better 'restaurant crawl') with a nice local guide. We would definitely recommend the tour to everyone who visits Tallinn!
The guide is very knowledgeable with a full of scary and gory story of what medival people used to do and how they lived. He was funny and kept us entertained with various ghost stories and Tallinn myth.
Our day with Andres was fantastic. He had a great sense of humor. He loves Tallinn and he made us fall in love too. He gave us such a great history lesson that people from other tours were listening in. We learned about history, culture, current day living....everything we asked he gave a thoughtful and complete explanation, We discovered the New modern Tallinn, the Stalin Era and the old city. We visited the must see tourist spots but also some of Andres favorite hidden gems. The day went so fast and we were sorry to see it end. Andres was one of the best guides we have ever had!!!!
Mia was a wonderful guide. Although she is still very young she is passionate and proud of her city and extremely knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the tour
Good overview of the history and old town of Tallinn.
Maria is a nice and competent guide. We learned a lot and had fun.
Our guide Kert met us at the cruise terminal. The tour was in a comfortable van which was well air-conditioned. Kert first took us to the Old Town where he gave us a lot of information about its history. We then went to Catherine's Palace, followed by the Song Festival Grounds. We concluded the tour with a brief visit to Pirita beach. A pleasant shore excursion which made us fall in love with Tallinn.
The tour was good in some respects, and I’m not sorry we took it, but I have some complaints, and overall it could have been better. We are not fussy, but the condition of the car we rode in was borderline unacceptable. It smelled bad. Our guide was informative and knowledgeable, and did a great job explaining Estonian history and culture, but he didn’t take us along Pikk Street, which is sort of unconscionable. Fortunately I had my guide book with me, and we had time after the tour to return there and see it, but we might have missed it if I hadn’t been paying attention. Two things would have helped. First, if as a tour operator, you know that you are recommended by Rick Steves, then you should be sure to cover all the sights mentioned in his book, unless there is a good reason not to. Second, provide a map and an overview of what we’re going to be doing at the outset. It really helps to get oriented and to have a rough idea of what’s coming next. We did privately-led tours at every stop our cruise ship made, and this was the only one that didn't meet a high standard (especially with respect to the car).
Our tour was very good for us because we all know a bit of history and we like to learn about the place. Our Guide, Christian, gave us enough background information so we could have a better understanding of the Tallinn of today. Very knowlegdable and intesting. Christian was well prepared and could answer all relevant questions.
Very easy to organize and I was very thankful for the information and flexibility of the service. Our guide was punctual and we found him easily. The tour was easy to walk and I can recommend it to everybody. Our guide had good English and he was easy going and liked to make jokes . The atmosphere during the tour was very relaxed and our tour guide wanted to make it fun and funny. I was with my friends from New Zealand and I felt that the our guide was little bit too relaxed about the facts and information about the country and the town of Tallinn. The tour should have been more informative! The restaurant recommendation ( Irish pub) was very strange for the people who were in Tallinn only for one day. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable but his style was sometimes quite irritable - people really like to get to know about the places where they travel!
The tour was ok, length was with 90 minutes ok, not too long. The tour guide was a bit nervous, you could tell that a lot from his body language. He was friendly, the stories were nice but often we'd rather had stories being a bit more realistic. The tour would be better in the dark. Maybe shift the times in summer to later hours. There was no hot chocolate at the end :(
We walked through the beautiful medieval centre of Tallinn with Raimo, a young student who has recently started guiding. He gave us a great insight into the history of Estonia and the character of the Estonian people. Raimo had the knack of adding his quirky humour to his stories and managed to bridge the age gap between himself and our elderly selves. I would have liked a little more historical depth to the architects and the styles of houses and their connection to Finnish architecture. Also the correct naming of Olaf’s Church along with the folk tale. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed Raimo’s style and his skill at evading the hordes off the cruise ships. I recommend this tour.
Group of four adults: we had a very interesting tour with Siim, covering history and general life in Estonia. He has a great sense of humour and is open to discuss and answer questions of all nature. Respectful and kind, we recommend to all.
María was focused on what we wanted in a guided tour. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic with a wealth of historical, cultural, and architectural information. Highly recommend her and this tour group.
This was a nice tour. We also had a wonderful guide (Nils) and beautiful weather! Niles walked us around town telling us all about Tallinn's history and culture. We had 10 people in our group and our family ranged in age from 9 to 67. He kept us all entertained and answered all our our questions.. even the kids' silly "kid questions". I recommend taking this tour.
Liiine was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining throughout our private 5+hour driving and walking tour. She also was very relatable, which assisted both my husband and I and our teenage daughters’ understanding of the impact of WWII and the Soviet occupation of Estonia. Of course, the medieval history and following centuries was fully covered as well. Other favorite parts of the tour were visiting the local side of Tallin.
We had a very knowledgeable guide, Igor, who provided us with useful information about the city and the country. Very good command of the English language and an easy-to-hear clear voice. In hindsight, and after touring the place on our own , we would have liked to spend more time at the lower town and less visiting the outskirts area now being gentrified after housing old factories.
It was a nice experience with Christian, Very good and funny explanations
First of all the weather was absolutely beautiful the day of our tour. We met Liine at the cruise port gate. The city is absolutely stunning. This was an exceptional tour highlighting the history of Tallinn and the buildings contributing to that history. I love tours by local people. They are very passionate about their cities. Linne is very knowledgeable when it comes to all the history of Tallinn. We congratulate the people of Tallinn on their Independence. I highly recommend this tour.
To start off with, I am a junkie when it comes to fables and legends and myths. This tour provided all of that and more and i would recommend this tour to anyone who is fortunate enough to visit Tallinn. The guide was informative and funny with numerous stories to share.
The tour was great and interesting with the different stories about scary, bloody and spooky legends of Tallinn. Although it was his first tour, our guide was really fantastic. My teen daughters really loved him (sorry I forget his name, but I really want to give him highest mark). He had excellent knowledge about Estonian history too. Would Highly recommend.
Our guide was superior! She met us at the ship and was very informative about the city of Tallinn. It was an enriching experience and we were so glad we hired such a competent guide!
We had a wonderful tour with Siim! He did a great job and really brought Tallinn alive...and he had a wonderful sense of humor! We walked up through the old city and then we rode bikes to the summer palaces and park. It was perfect for the time we had with the cruise ship. They provided an attachment bike for our younger one...it was terrific.
We took this tour in place of our included tour with Viking. Viking tours are usually very good, but we thought this would be really fun. It was! The tour was great. We had a young man who knew a lot about the history and culture of Tallinn. The walking tour covered old town and the bike ride got us through some different parts of the city and then out to the palace and park areas. Really nice and very enjoyable. Highly recommend it.
Maria was our guide for a 3-hour walking tour of Old Town (Upper and Lower). Maria was the PERFECT guide! Very engaging, very knowledgeable, and tailored the tour for what we were interested in. We requested Maria based on other reviews and could not have been happier. Our booking and all correspondence with Traveller Tours was via the website and email — they made the process very easy and were a pleasure to work with. We enjoyed our time in Tallinn immensely and hope to return. We definitely recommend Traveller Tours, Maria, and Tallinn. Go and have fun!!
Our group of 6 booked a walking tour of historical Tallinn. We were extremely lucky to have Miriam as our guide. She was knowledgeable about local history and mixed facts with interesting anecdotes and folk lore. Her English language skills were exceptional. When we got back to the ship we couldn’t say enough good things about the experience. I would highly recommend this company and guide
Very interesting and flexible to consider our interest. Great stories and legends, very good command of english language.
Erasmus+ Route Docs project partners from five different countries enjoyed a walking tour in Old Town a lot. During the tour we had several stops and we were given information about history, culture, events, interesting stories were told. The programme presented a balanced view about everything. We enjoyed a sense of humor of our guide Mirjam. We do recommend her!
We had a wonderful tour of Kalamaja - the former industrial area of Tallinn that is rapidly transforming into hipster centre - and along the coast by bike, followed by a walk through Tallinn's beautiful historic centre. Our guide (Maibel) is a history graduate and was extremely knowledgeable. Her English was faultless and she was extremely flexible in fitting in with our requirements. We booked our tour at very short notice and were extremely impressed with the service offered. Many thanks.
Igor was great. Very informative. This tour was a great way to learn about Tallin's history. Gave us a good start for the rest of our day.
Our guide Lina (sp?) Took us to 6 different places. We had a wide variety of Estonia food. From pastries and desserts to appetizers to main meals it was all wonderful. But what made the tour even better was Lena's vast knowledge of Estonian history and cultural history. She was informative witty and a delight. In the end we waddled out of the last restaurant unable to have one more mouthful. So the amount of food is more than adequate. The Highlight for me was the Sprat with quail eggs. For my wife it was the dumplings. Most of the food that we ate was comfort food that estonian's ate throughout history which is exactly what we wanted but it might be fun to have a higher end option. Overall if you want good food with great value this is the tour for you.
Had a wonderful evening with Liine who really bought the town to life. Such a brilliant tour with best hot chocolate at the end. Highly recommend!!
We have visited Tallinn quire many times, but spend more time on shopping centres or cafes and never actually taken time to learn about the city and it's history. This time we wanted to try something different and although it was -5C and snowy, we took the possibility to go on 2-hour guided walking tour. And boy what a tour it was - Heli, our guide brought the history alive with great stories and anecdotes. We learned more about our own country too as we now understood what effect Finland has had on Estonias hard battle of independence. Great tour - well worth the time and money :)
Wind and cold winter weather did not bother at all as we listened fascinating stories of Katleen (hope I got the name correct) at our private walking tour in the old town of Tallin. Great combination of ghosts, legends, history and life of today - just as we wished. And in the end of the tour nice cup of warm tea with beautiful view of the city, thank you!
Siim was eloquent, humorous and captivating....wealth of a time. I had a whale of time.Kudos to him !
Heli is a hell of a tour guide. absolutly enthusiastic in describing her beloved city and estonians. She is equally funny and knowledged! I recomment this tour to everyone who thinks about viditing tallinn.
We were lucky enough to have Kert as our guide for the day. His history knowledge was incredible and was able to introduce us to a glimpse into Estonian and Tallinn from centuries ago to this day. Kert has a wonderful sense of humour and very well travelled himself - so his tour was much more than an ABC of a place and a drive by and wave of key attractions you might often find with tour companies. Well done Kert and thank you.
The tour was great, informative, interesting, and a perfect way to hear about all the spooky, gruesome and fascinating legends of Tallinn and it’s turbulent history. Our guide was fantastic, really fun and made for a very entertaining night, with excellent ‘home-grown’ knowledge of the area. Would Highly recommend.
This was a perfect walk through the night and our guide Liine was so ambitious. She told us stories about Tallinn we had never heard before. I can say this was such a good idea to book this tour.
Book this tour! You will not regret a second of it. We even did the tour in freezing cold weather and enjoyed it immensely! You learn so much about the history of Tallinn, and who doesn’t enjoy a good ghost story. Worth every penny and then some!
Maibel was the best. She was fun and friendly even in the shitty weather. She answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable. We’ve taken many tours in many cities and Maibel was tip top. Thank you for a great tour. We loved Estonia and will recommend the tour to our friends!
After a similar tour in Edinburgh we had high hopes for this one in Tallinn. The free walking tour was also a hard act to follow but unfortunately we were very disappointed. We did not find the content very stimulating and its delivery was lacking. We were expecting a 2 hour tour so thought the 1 hour 10 minute one we actually had for 15 euros each was expensive. Sorry, but wouldn't recommend.
This was one of the top highlights of my trip to Tallinn. Although it was cold and dark, it really added to the ghost tour. It's such a great way to learn more about the history of the place. Liine was our guide and she was so great - entertaining, easy to understand, really engaging and passionate. Thank you!
My husband and I did the private Best of Tallinn 4hr Bike and Walking Tour with Maibel. We walked (20-30mins) from our ship to the meeting point (right behind the Tourist Info Center) and had a great time with Maibel covering all the highlights, and lots of parks, too. She studied history in London: has excellent English and so much knowledge. Isabel was great answering all my emails and let me pre pay the amount on my credit card. I might add- I thought the price was a great bargain for 4hrs, by ourselves, with such a professional guide. I'd definitely recommend this company and certainly any tour with Maibel.
We did the 10:00am walking tour on a weekday morning with Maria, and it was great. She was very funny and informative, and gave us a great walk around old town, providing tons of information and some interesting stories about the city and its history, as well as providing some recommendations. It wasn't too long and gave us an idea of all the things to stop and see on our own later. Very good tour.
We had an excellent adventure with Niels in Tallinn. Our guide was very knowledgeable - his deep knowledge of the city and Estonia allowed him to present a mix of history and information about current life in Tallinn. Highly recommended!
We were traveling by cruise ship with our 2 teens (ages 14 & 19) and booked the 5 hour car and walking tour. Our guide Chris not only did a great job of showing us the city, but had a sense of humor that kept us laughing throughout the tour. We ended our day with an excellent lunch that he had pre-booked ahead of time. Getting to know a local while seeing the highlights of this beautiful city made our short time in Tallinn special. We all left wishing we could see more.
We had a fantastic day and cannot recommend Traveller enough. Our tour guide, Siim was fantastic!!! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely welcome!
This was a great tour. George, our tour guide was so enthusiastic about his country and its fascinating but sad history. The Old Town area of Tallinn is beautiful, very medieval. We learned so much from him, really had no knowledge of Estonia before this tour. It is a walking tour, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes for walking cobblestone streets. I would highly recommend this tour, we enjoyed it very much. Thank you George!!
After arriving in from Riga that morning, Heli and the walking tour of Tallinn was my first experience, she was so fantastic brilliant, energetic and I really enjoyed her spirit.
I did a tour with Nils. Nils loves his city and was very knowledgeable. He had a fantastic sense of humour and kept me entertained. He was very thorough and respectable. I had only a few hours to spend and Nils helped me make the most of it. I would recommend him and would like to have him again when I return for a longer stay
Tour: 10.00 am - noon Tuesday 13.06.17. Exceeded expectations (and I've been on a few). Superb guide: knowledgeable, entertaining and most of all she seemed to enjoy herself as much as we did! A valuable insight to places of interest recommended in my Berlitz guide (plug), She deserves to win the trip to Berlin (send my commission to the usual address). Seriously, DO IT!
Helen gave us a wonderful tour of the upper and lower town. We learned a perfect mix of culture, history, and architecture. She gave great advice for places to continue exploring and answered all of our questions. I would recommend it as a first tour of the area to start your trip because she gave so much useful and interesting historical background for understanding the layout and history of the city. One of the best tour guides I've had on a walking tour anywhere in the EU!
We visited Tallinn as a port on our Baltic Sea Cruise. First, I want to say Isabel was my contact & she arranged our 2 hour walking tour. She was very accommodating as my brother & his family opted to join us for the tour. Our guide that day was Siim. Siim patiently waited for us at the exit gate. The weather was an off & on drizzle. Siim was very knowledgeable about his town. He knows a lot of history of Tallinn. We asked Siim to recommend & to join us for lunch at a restaurant that would serve local fare & off the tourist beat. The experience was amazing as well as the meal. We enjoyed talking with Siim. We did pay to extend our tour, we were having such a great time! I want you to know that even though the weather was not very good for a walking tour, this town & the experience we had, was hands down our family's favorite. We could not stop talking about our day in Tallinn. Thank you Isabel, Siim & Traveller Tours!!
We took this tour with our small team and it was really cool! You get to see very different places, from a small bakery to hipster places and everything in between. Liine is a wonderful guide and has a baker's diploma herself, so she loves food and cooking.
I really enjoyed free walking tour in Tallinn with Helen, she was very humorous and told us many interesting facts about Tallinn. Beer for Helen!
What a wonderful day in Tallinn, warm with clear blue sky. We are so lucky to have Heli as our old town walking tour guide making this 2 hour journey an enjoyable and unforgettable one. Thanks to Heli and the tourism bureau. Love you all.
She was a very enthusiastic and knowledgable guide. She put a lot of humorous elements into the tour :D This tour is highly recommended for all people who would visit Tallinn! We will come back again! Thank you!
We had a lot of fun with our guide Maria. Maria is the perfect guide, she knows a lot about Tallinn and can even tell some funny stories. We can recommend a guided tour through Tallinn with her! Thanks again! 😊
We went on free walking tour with Heli. She was so knowledgeable and humorous. A lot of things that we learned from part of her research and we couldn't find them in books. It was really worth talking this tour. Hats off to Heli. This proved the point when saw the number of visitors who joined the tour yesterday. She deserved at least a fiver from each.
We did the free tour through Tallinn on a Sunday and Henri was a very good guide, concise, funny and told very interesting stories, knew the answer to all the questions and gave us insights into the town and people -- like the Estonian way of greeting close friends (by looking away and maybe grunting "Tere!"). We had thought it had something to do with us up to that point! And we are from Germany... Glad to have that cleared up. Henri was very open and friendly and I can honestly say the 2 hours went by in a flash. Thanks, Henri!
We did the free tour with Henri. He was a great guide and he knew how to bring the Estonian history to the point combined with a good sense of humour. He provided us with some really good tips and recommendations where to go to in Tallinn. Good job and we will definitely recommend this tour.
Henri was a great and humorous guide! He gave us a rather informative history on Estonia and interesting jokes along the way as well :) Thumbs up!
Good job Henri. Excellent tour, informative clear delivery. Not only fluent in English, you comfortably used humour like a native English speaker. Thank you so much for the tour of your city :-)
Today was my best Tour around Tallinn. Heli is very smart and very funny, energetic and informative with awesome taste of humour.
The tour guided by Henri was excellent! Very entertaining and educational. Henri is very knowledgeable and could answer questions. It was fun and I highly recommend it!
Today we went on walking tour with Henry. He is AMAZING guide! Today is so cold, but he tell us a lot of interesting facts, histories, jokes an so on. He show us the best places of Tallinn. We like him very much! Thanks a lot!
Went on a free tour of Tallinn Old Town with Heli. She is amazing, professional, funny and enthusiast. Had the opportunity to get to know some interesting facts and stories that are not written in official guides. Heli made me appreciate the little things and events that, as she says, may change the history (to quote her 'never mess with the Finns'). I definitely recommend a tour with her.
Went on a great tour today with Heli, she was very informative and injected a lot of humour into the commentary. Was very impressed that the tour was free and would highly recommend it as a way of seeing this beautiful city and getting a brief history.
We were on a tour led by the very funny and informative Heli. Her English is amazing. Learnt a lot about this lovely city, country and people. Would highly recommend doing this tour.
We went on a tour with Heli as our guide. She was very entertaining and spoke amazing English. To be able to joke as easily as she did in a second language is a skill! She was very informative and made history interesting.
We had Heli on our tour and she made it hands down the best free walking tour we have done -and we have done a fair few over the years (because the price is right :) ) Her knowledge of the city and its history is top notch and her delivery is right on with humour and information. You will be in good hands if Heli is taking your group.
Thank you Martin for the interesting tour today! I have learned a lot about Tallinn which I would not have discovered on my own. I definitely recommend this tour.
Fabulous tour in Tallinn. Our guide was amazing. Highly recommended tour! Heli is the best guide! She's a star and should be on stage. Full of information and character and made the trip just brilliant! Thank you
Mart gave us a highly informative, refreshing and humorously stimulating tour - thank you; a good way to get to know this pulsating city and a great country with (a) wonderful people.
We had a great tour with Martin. He told us about the city and the history of the country, but also about the culture and ways of leaving of the Estonian.
Great tour with Mart. Loved it. Good mixture of history and modern day of Estonia with a healthy dose of Estonian self-deprecating humour. Recommend to anyone.
Had a glorious few hours with Ariel. Spending time with her made the whole experience of Tallinn 100% more enjoyable. We were lucky to have her to guide us and that we did in sunshine. All the best The Connor family from South London
Had an amazing time yesterday discovering the old town on free walking tour with Liine as a guide. Fun, informative and brilliant in all senses! Appreciated Estonian self-irony and funny jokes :)
An excellent tour with Henri. His repartee kept all the participants till the end despite the heavy rain showers. And he coped very well with one awkward questioner. Obviously loves Tallinn & Estonia and has a deep knowledge of its history and legend
Best tour guide ever!!! Well done Heli
Our family of 6 wanted a tour where we could walk the old city and also see other sights like the summer palace. In addition, we had special dietary needs. John (getting his Master's in History) was such an amazing host. He met us off the ship and both drove and walked us around. He brought us to a great restaurant for a gluten free lunch. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Don't hesitate to book your cruise shore tour with them. Much better than what is offered on the ship.
2 exciting, informative and funny hours. Thank you, Henri!
Just ended walking tour with Henry. Excellent tour with excellent guide. Professional, well informed and enthusiastic. We enjoyed every minute of it and made us forget the rain. Thank you. Stefania, Iain, Timothy and Marina
We did a tour today with HENRY and he did a great job showing us around his city. His English was excellent (and his Japanese) and his stories included many details and funny things, so it was a really entertaining time spent with the free tour. Highly recommended!
Great knowledge of the city and its history, funny and interesting to listen to. Congrats Mart!
Today with Heli, she was fantastic, incredible English and an excellent sense of humour, lots of history. I travel a lot and have been to many tours, she is a crack ! i recommend her 100 %
The 2 hour Tallinn walking tour with Ariel was a highlight of a great day out. Her friendly manner was only matched by her historical knowledge. Informative and fun........thanks Ariel.
Our tour was terrific. Our guide, Ariel, was very informative, but also very pleasant. I highly recommend the tour, even at a higher price.
Tried the free walking tour and was lucky enough to get Mart. He did a fantastic job. Great mix of information and humor, excellent English, very easy to understand even when standing in the back, and I'm mostly sure we didn't even lose anybody on the way.
A huge "Thank You" to Ariel for her 3 hour walking tour through Tallinn! The history and insight into the city and culture were awesome!
We took a walking tour of Tallinn and it was so amazing. Our guide Helli was very knoweledgeable and had a great sense of humor. It was a great opportunity for us to learn tragic but valuable history of the country and the world history surrounding Estonia. We would definitely recommend the tour for all tourists of Estonia. Thanks Helli!
Excellent tour, would definitely recommend it! We learned a lot, our guide Martin is very knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you!
Our walking tour of the Old Town on July 3rd with Henri as guide was wonderful. He made the town and its history really interesting and informative with a few chuckles thrown in. I recommend this tour wholeheartedly and if you get to have Henri as guide it's a bonus.
We took a free walking tour with Mart and it was one of the best tours we'd ever experienced. Not only was it informative but also fun. We came there with no idea of Tallinn's history and came out as pretty knowledgeable. If you want to acquaint yourselves with the city and have some fun in the meantime, that's the best choice for you.
We had a free Tallinn walking tour with Henri on 7 July. He is a well-informed guide who brought exuberance and fun to the tour. He is a big credit to the tour. Tallinn itself is a beautiful city, and we saw all the key spots and discovered its history too on this highly recommended tour.
We had a free tour with Martin. I have been in many free tours around Europe and this was by the moment, the best... Time passed so quickly listening stories about life in the Soviet era, otto prince tricks, or actual prime minister oddities... Also he speaks very clearly even for those who like me don't speak too much english.
We have just had the "Ghost Tour" of the city of Tallinn together with the guide Helen. We enjoyed it very much, Helen managed to tell us a lot of the city and its history in a very fascinating way. We discovered hidden spots, heard scary stories - will never want to walk around the old town in the middle of the night! - we learnt so much about Tallinn, Estonians and their culture. It was indeed a great tour and Helen was super kind and professional!
Did the free walking tour with Mart today. It was fantastic. Really interesting and fun. A great introduction to Estonian history, culture and people. I fully recommend it!
Mart was our young, fun, energetic and witty tour guide of Tallinn. He was not only eloquent and informative, packing in a great deal of interesting historical, social and cultural info on Tallinn and Estonian history and people, but he was also kind in answering many questions and always kept it fresh and humorous. He will leave you hungry for more Tallinn, guaranteed! Thanks again for a great experience and keep up the good work!! ; )
On July 14th 2016 we had the pleasure to enjoy Tallinn's Old Town tour led by joyful Mart. Half guide, half stand-up comedian, Mart showed us the best parts of the city centre while he nurtured our brains with both historical and cultural facts, loud and clear despite the fact that we were a sizeable bunch. Not trying to say that the other guides are not good, but look out for Mart when you visit Tallinn :)
Ariel was a great and witty guide on the 3 H walking tour of Tallinn. She was extremely informative and made the trip a joyous experience to be a part of. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to discover rich heritage and history in this beautiful city.
Henri was fantastic: friendly, charming, and spoke excellent English. I'd definitely recommend him.
Highly recommend the Tallinn old city walking tour with Mart. We loved seeing the sights while laughing about the dry sense of humour of Estonians and the presidents shenanigans. Mart was very entertaining and had a good sense of humour! Well worth it!
We had a great 2 hour tour with Mart, who showed us the sights, but more importantly, provided a fascinating recount of Tallinn's history, politics, and the dry sense of humor. Highly recommended!
We did a walking tour of Tallinn with Maria. She was very friendly, and knowledgable about the city giving us detailed explanations to our questions. Also, we booked the tour very last minute and she went out of her way to accommodate us which we really appreciated.
This was my first time in Tallinn. I had the opportunity to take part to the Tallinn free tour and I enjoyed it a lot. Although I participated after having visited some of the museums, I had the opportunity to learn more about Tallinn and the history of Estonia during the two-hour tour. I would recommend it to anybody who has the time to attend it. I would like to thank the guide of my tour, Mart, who made the tour absolutely enjoyable!
The free walking tour of the Old Town in Tallinn was great! Our guide, Henri, was so interesting and funny that he almost made us forget we were walking around in the pouring rain! Definitely a good way to get learn about the history of the city.
Henri gave us an amazing tour of Tallinn! It was fun and we learnt a lot about the city and the country! Top mark ! Thank you !
I took the free old town tour with Henri today. The two hours were amazing, he is a really entertaining guide who knows a lot about the city. The tour was a mixture of history and a lot of jokes about everything. I learned a lot about Tallinn today! Thank you for this Henri!
Mart gave us a great tour and answered many questions. He spoke perfect English .We would recommend this tour to everybody.Estonia should be proud of him. We come back.Thank you.
Took the walking tour with Heli straight from our cruise ship... what a highlight of the cruise ! Heli is outstanding, funny and witty. Highly recommended.
Took Tallin walking tour with Henri. Despite the crazy rain, Henri was fantastic. Informed and funny. He pays attention to important details, and makes jokes about them.
I also participated the tour on 20th of June and must say that what an actor Estonia has missed in HELI. The tour was fantastic mix of laughter, acting, facts and figures. Thank you indeed.
Hi everyone, we had a tour with our guide HELI on the 20th of June 2016 and it was very nice. HELI is hugely entertaining, interacts with the audience in a great manner and passes on more information to you than you would believe is possible in one hour. Not just the years and numbers, but speckled with lots of anecdotes and light humour. Best tour I (we!) ever had! Wish she could be hired for Amsterdam...
Had a tour on June 20th at 19:00 with Heli who was the best Guide I've ever had. Our Group was really impressed of her knowledge and the way she presented her hometown. We all enjoyed every second of her stories.
We went on a tour with Ariel today. What an amazing young lady! She gave us a fantastic history of Tallinn with some fun facts as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would recommend it to anyone wanting a comprehensive but not overwhelming tour of this wonderful city.
Thanks to Mart we could enjoy the beauty of the old city despite the rain. He was so dynamic, passionate and willing to share the story of Tallinn that we could do nothing but appreciate the tour. Thank you very much to him for this great experience !! PS: very good English !
Henri led our tour of old Tallinn today and we absolutely enjoyed our time with him. He is informative, very funny and provided us with many useful insights and tips. What a beautiful city!
We do our trip through the old town with Henry. It was a very interesting and funny tour. Henry has a good knowledge about the town and knows some funny random facts, so we really enjoy the Tour with him!
We did the walking tour of Tallinn with Maria in June. She was extremely knowledgeable on the history and made the experience very interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Enjoyed a great tour of Tallinn Old Town with Henri on May 22. Very informative, good humor, friendly!
Funky Bike Tour is highly recommended for all who want to see beyond the evident beauty of the old town and to understand how Talinn has grown through its more recent history under Russian rule. Katrin our guide was warm, enthusiastic and very well informed. Her excellent English made communication easy as she introduced more personal stories to explain how Estonians lived and worked. We especially enjoyed seeing the old Russian railway station, the prison and its chilling history, the disused Volta factory and a quirky little cafe by the sea. The emerging Public Art blended well with many of these industrial buildings.
Martin met us as scheduled for our 5-hour Tallinn tour. His English is EXCELLENT, with an amazing grasp of American colloquialisms and slang, which he says he picked up from watching TV and movies. His knowledge of the history and politics of the area was extensive, and he was able to explain it in terms easily understood by non-history buffs. Hands down, our group of 4 voted Tallinn the best of our five city/country stops, primarily due to Martin's skills and knowledge, the beautiful surroundings and (of course) the fabulous weather.
Our family of four had a wonderful 5 hour car and walking tour with Katlin. We were met just outside the cruise gates and then proceeded to do a narrated walking tour of the old town. Next we drove in a brand new vehicle to see other areas just outside of town. Katlin was very knowledgeable and gave us great insight into Estonia and its people.
Annile gave us a private walking tour while we were in Tallinn as part of a Baltic cruise. Annile was by far the best of the 5 different tour guides we used in different countries. She was perky, personable, and very friendly. She was knowledgeable but did not go into boring detail. She gave a lot of insight on Estonia live, politics, culture-- including difficulties with living close to Russia. I highly recommend Tallinn Traveller Tours and especially Annile
On our first day in Tallinn we decided to explore the city with a free walking tour. Our guide Henri was super nice and funny. His knowledge about the Estonian history and the city itself was remarkable. He answered all our questions and also gave us some local tipps. We really appreciated the tour. It was the perfect start for our trip to Tallinn! :)
Our guide Maria is very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed our walking tour of Tallinn, it is a great introduction to the city / country and I recommend it. The map and traveller tips were a bonus. Thank you
We had a 2h tour of Tallinn on 22nd May with Henri. It was a great experience! Henri told us lots of interesting and funny stories, as well as tips in order to better enjoy the city. I already recommended this city tour to my friends. Good job, Henri!
Thank you Liine for a fantastic and thrilling ghost tour, our students loved it!!!
Really great tour of Tallinn with Henri. He was very passionate, informative and added great stories and humor to our trip. We followed up on many of his suggestions of what to see on our own and we were very pleased.
Henri was really enthusiastic and friendly. He made Tallinn come alive for us - highly recommend you seek him out.
My husband and I did the 3 hr private walking tour with Maria in May, 2016, and we were so pleased that we had made that choice instead of one of our ship's crowded, and more expensive, group excursions. Maria was so knowledgeable about the history of her country. She spoke excellent English and was able to answer all our questions. She was waiting for us right outside cruise dock gates with a sign with our name on it. Our tour felt more like a visit with a friend and we were sorry when it was time to say goodbye. The 3 hour guided tour was just right for us, as we still had plenty of time to poke around the market and shops after. Excellent tour and excellent value!!
We had a small group of cyclists from Helsinki and we enjoyed a lot of biking tour with Liine. Liine could tell about the history of Estonia very lively. It really was the best guided tour I've ever been.
We enjoyed a great free tour of beautiful Tallinn on 7th May. There were a lot of people waiting so I was impressed to see 2 guides turn up, we were split into two groups then off we went. Martin, our guide was brilliant. Although still a large group everyone could hear him and his English was excellent. Apart from the history of Estonia and the info about the places seen on the tour, we also learned about the people during the Soviet days and their love of Dallas on tv and the stamp collecting punks. It was all so interesting and the time flew by. Thank you Martin, I thoroughly recommend the tour.
Touring with Henri in Tallinn is one of the best tours I've had, humorous, informative and relaxing!
This was one of the best walking tours we have ever been to. With Henri introducing Tallinn and Estonian culture, the tour was even more interesting. We like his stories very much:)
I took a tour with Katrin, and had a fantastic time! Katrin was friendly and very engaging, and kept us fascinated with great stories and history. By far the best tour guide experience I have had while traveling in Europe!
Excellent tour with a great animated tour guide - Heli. Total walk is about 2 miles in 2 hours and the time went by very quickly because Heli was captivating. Highly recommended!
I really enjoyed my tour with Martin on March 27th, 2016. We learned about Tallinn's history in a very funny and instructive way. Very witty and polite, Martin was a great guide. Thank you
We did Tallinn Free Tour (March 26, 2016) with Liine and she was amazing: very informative, energetic and with an excellent sense of humor. Sure, guides are supposed to be funny, but Liine exceeds all expectations easily. Strongly recommended.
We joined free Tallinn walking tour with Liine on 20 December. It was fantastic!!! Our guide Liine was perfect, very professional, enthusiastic, with deep knowledge and excellent sense of humour! I highly recommend this tourist company and looking forward to next visiting Tallinn! Thank you!
Helli was brilliant, informative, fun, knowledgable and everything you could want in a guide. Thoroughly recommend - a fantastic couple of hours, and shame on anyone who went on the tour and then sneaked away without giving a donation. Vote for Helli.
A huge thank you to Martin for a wonderful tour of the old town on October 28th. A fast paced, extremely entertaining and very informative two hours -- it was a perfect introduction to the city. We look forward to visiting again and taking a longer tour with you.
A little bit more than two hours touring with Helli passed like a breeze as it was the best, most enjoyable and educational city tour I have ever done and I have taken lots! The small tip I give was not worth her knowledge, enthusiasm, sense of humor..and she made the Estonia history so simple, easy and fun for me to understand and remember. I m thankful!
Did the free walking tour with Mairi on 10/16 - very entertaining and informative. I loved the time she spent talking about Estonian culture and perspectives. She's a culture theory major at uni and it shows! Recommend.
The Tallinn Ghost Tour is one of the most marvellous things to do in Tallinn! Our tour guide Liine was a fantastic storyteller and did a great job! It was great fun and very interesting to meet all the real ghosts of Tallinn old town (special regards to the ghost in the Swedish embassy :) )
My husband and I joined the walking tour on 3rd September. What a great guide Marii was. She was proud of her city, very knowledgeable and amusing. Although we had been to Tallinn in 2011 we visited parts of the city on the walking tour we had not seen before. Definitely worth doing this 2 hour walk if you visit this beautiful city. Thank you Marii.
I sincerely recommend this tour. We joined the Free Tour on the 7th of September 2015. Our guide, Marii, was wonderful. Despite the strongly rainy weather, she kept a great attitude and made an almost 2 hours long tour showing us Tallinn. Thank you Marii and Tallinn Traveller Tours!
Best day ever was in Tallinn during our two week cruise on the Baltic Sea. On August 25, 2015, our traveling group of 12 met with Mart for a two hour private tour. I can't say enough good things about him. He told us so many interesting historical facts about Estonia, added much humor to his presentation and was very accommodating to our needs. It truly was our favorite day of the trip. We all agreed Mart would make an excellent professor. He will be successful no matter what he chooses to do. Thank you Mart for making our visit to Tallinn so memorable!
In August 2015, we (4 adults) used Tallinn Traveller Tours to organize appx. 7 hr tour of Tallinn with Katlin. We had an excellent time! Tallinn Traveller Tours took the time to organize a private trip and answer countless of emails and questions. The company was able to organize a fantastic tour, according to what we wanted to see and learn about. Katlin was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and full of energy! Although our tour had officially ended, she still took us to one more place (the Song Festival Grounds) because she felt it was important for us to see this historical place. We were so grateful for this! Our tour included a van, which was new and clean. There were water bottles waiting for us in the van. During the tour, we decided not to go to one of the planned museums. The company refunded the money right away without any hassles and without us having to remind them. Overall, Tallinn Traveller Tours is a very professional tour company with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
During our visit this august, we did the free 2h walking tour of Tallinn with Mart. What a great 2 hours that was ! Mart was one of the best guide we ever had in our life. He was interesting, has a lot of knowledge of the city, it's history, it's people. He had a lot of amusing anecdotes, he could answer most of our question. He even told us about the Estonians, how they were, what were their values, etc. I HIGHLY recommend this tour.
Mart gave us a very interesting and fun visit to Tallinn on 15 August. Thank you!
I took part to 2 guided tours, and both were great experiences! Including the free tour through Tallinn lead by Mart: interesting tour, nice and smart guide, very friendly, with excellent English.
The walking tour was interesting, but Ann, our guide, made it fantastic.
We visited Tallinn in August 2015 and booked a four hour walking & bike tour. Our guide, Mart, was fabulous. He was extremely knowledgeable and provided a commentary that was full of historical facts and amusing anecdotes about a country and city that he loves passionately. Once on the bike, he took us to places that only a few get to see and, for that, we are very grateful. An excellent tour and a fantastic guide. You will be well rewarded by booking this tour.
Our group of four arranged for a private tour. Our guide, Liine, a young university student with excellent English and command of idioms, was full of meaningful details and comments. We were interested in Tallinn during the Soviet period. Liine had much to say including an impressive command of history from the Teutonic Knights til the recent independence. Thank you, Liine, for making our trip to Tallinn so exceptional. Cost: 4 persons, 3 hrs., 100 Euros.
Excellent tour with Mart coping really well with a truly global audience. The 2 hours disappeared in a flash full of interesting sights and entertaining narrative. Recommended for anyone especially with Mart to guide you and answer any questions.
My wife and I have just participated in a tour lead by Mart. The tour was extremely interesting and fun. Mart manages to include fun anecdotes about Tallinn keeping his audience interested. Thanks!
An amazing tour of Tallinn with Tanya, tailored for our needs (a 7 year old with an avid interest in history but short legs!). Extremely friendly and pleasant tour guide, can't recommend her or the company enough!
We had less than a day to spend in Tallinn. So decided to take a short walking tour of the city. Our guide named Liine was very informative, funny and efficient. She took us around the main parts of the city with small stops in between, to tell us the history of the city. It was really enjoyable. I will recommend this tour to anyone taking a short trip to Estonia.
We booked the 3h Old Town tour with Tatjana on Aug 2, 2015. I must say that Tatjana is an awesome tour guide. She demonstrated deep knowledge of Tallinn history, with a lot of personal touch, which made it feel like the stories come from someone who really lives the history. After taking the tour with Tatjana, Tallinn definitely occupies a very special spot in my heart, and I hope to visit it again one day.
Fue en ingles, pero se me hizo muy entretenido. Mart el guía me encanto! Una excelente opción para tener una visión sobre la historia y ubicarse en tallin!! Sorry, my review is in Spanish!
I pre-booked and paid in full by email prior to ship (Royal Caribbean) arrival. I was told driver/guide will meet at pier at 09:00. Yes, the guide was there exactly in nice clean van ready to go. I pre-explained one passenger was 80 and could not walk a lot. The driver took care of our entire party the whole day. I highly recommend this company and tour. Tour included stop for lunch, in which we paid for the guide's meal. Very good tour.
We took part in a free walking tour with Mart and it was very interesting. He told us info about the history of Estonia, the most relevant deeds and some funny stories. The tour was pleasant and we enjoyed it very much. Tallinn is really lovely and worth to visit. Thanks
We participated on the two-hour free walking tour in Tallinn led by Mart. His presentation of the city was fun, educational, not boring at all and his stories made it very relatable. I especially liked that he not only introduced the city but also talked about the people of Tallinn and Estonia. No questions were left unanswered and in general he had a huge impact on our impression of the city.
My husband and I joined the free Tallinn walking tour with Mart on Thursday 6 August. We have done a number of these tours around Europe and most recently Riga and Vilnius as part of our trip to the Baltic countries. We found the tour to be an excellent mix of history, culture and information on Estonian society. Mart was absolutely excellent as a guide, informative, charming and was a great representative for his country. The tour was one of the highlights of our Baltic trip and added immensely to our enjoyment of Tallinn. We would recommend Mart, Tallinn and Estonia to all our friends.
Mart gave us an excellent tour despite of the heat (26°). His anecdotes and information were both entertaining and educational alike. It was a big group he led, yet it was personal as he revealed his opinion on historical and current affairs. His loud voice was easy to be understood and the two-hour tour never had a boring moment. Thank you, Mart!
Saturday, the first of August I went on the free walking tour at lunch time with Mart Veliste. This young student thought us a lot of the country's history but did this in a very pleasant and relaxed way. On all the questions we've asked he could answer and the tour foreseen for two hours went well above this timetable. Mart was eager to give us a good impression of his country and his citizens and I'm certain that I've learned much more from him than from reading books. He advised me to visit the Estonian historic museum and the Kumu as well as the Nevski cathedral. All these were a real success! I can't thank him enough for all the joy he brought in the group and I wish him a successful future!
We did the 4h bike/walking tour with Virve in July 2015 and we had lots of fun discovering the beautiful city of Tallinn with her. She is a fantastic tourguide with lots of energy and knows many interesting storys of her country. We can warmly recommend her, our best tourguide ever!!!
You simply cannot go wrong with this "free" walking tour of a beautiful city. Mairi was amazing, and the ccity of Taillinn even better. St. Petersburg, Stockholm, Berlin --they have nothing on Taillinn.
We were in Tallinn for one day and did a 4 hour bike/walking tour with Catherine. The tour was the perfect length and blended history with other interesting anecdotes and facts. Thank you Catherine for a great tour!!
We had walking tour of Tallinn lead by Henri. He was enthusiastic and informative We loved Tallinn and Henri was an excellent guide.
Walking tour of Tallinn - I booked a private 4 hour walking tour as we wanted to see the Russian Prison as well as Old Town. Our guide tried to take a short cut only to find the gate was locked. She started to go around the block then realized we were going the wrong way. When we got close to the prison, construction from a new apartment complex prevented us from going the way she had hoped so we had to go around another couple of blocks. In all we lost about 45 minutes due to detours. We enjoyed Old Town and the places she took us to which had great views of the city. We just thought she could have been better prepared in the beginning.
Henri made the tour interesting and fun. It was also a good way to see various parts of the Old Town along with the ghost stories that happened in it. Very nice.
The tour was very informative. It was interesting and fun. Our guide, Henri, was friendly and is always able to answer all our questions regarding the tour. He speaks English (and also Japanese) fluently so we could easily understand when he was conducting the tour. Very highly recommended.
Thanks, Henri, we really enjoyed finding out and seeing your beautiful city. Would recommend this walking tour!!!
Can't say enough about our wonderful three hour Tallinn tour with Henri. He is such a good story teller and he is a great communicator. We loved walking with him and he was so interesting and able to answer all of our questions. He was very accommodating when we needed a tea break and he always managed to maneuver well around the crowds. He gave us advice on how to return to ferry, where to eat lunch, and where to shop. Tallinn would not have been nearly as interesting or fun without our wonderful tour.
We took the Best of Tallinn 3 hour walking tour with Henri today and had a great time walking around the winding streets of the city! Our tour was the perfect mix of history and casual conversation about Estonian culture. It was a fun way to spend our afternoon and a great introduction to Tallinn-we give it 5 out of 5 stars :)
Our guide, Henri, made every part of the tour interesting, with a mixture of facts and anecdotes.
Thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour led by Mart. He was very knowledgeable and engaging. Very interesting to listen to and one of the best walking tours we have been on in a while. Highly recommend :)
Had an enjoyable day with Katrin - great local knowledge and very helpful. One of the better walking tours we've been on.
I've done "free walking tours" in around a dozen or so Eastern European cities, and, by far, the one I did today in Tallinn was the best one I've seen. The guide, who said this was actually his first summer free tour, was engaging, humorous, well-informed, and gave a balanced view of complex topics for a very diverse group of participants. Well done!
Thanks to our guide Henri, it was an light enlightening walking tour, well done! Also, thanks to traveller.ee for arranging such an excellent guide, knowledgable and fluent in English, in such a short notice.
Fantastic tour led by Ann. She was knowledgeable, funny and had a great voice, enabling us to actually hear her! Her English was excellent also. I think she is the best tour guide we have ever experienced. Wonderful city.
I went on the free tour of the Tallinn Old Town with Heli today and it was excellent, really I would have expected to pay a lot of money for a tour guide who had such good knowledge. She presented very well even with a fairly large group from lots of different countries, she was very entertaining and interesting. Thanks so much, it was a really great first morning in Tallinn.
I can recommend 2 book this tour!!! Our guides were very friendly and knew a lot of the city, it's history and culture. We had so much fun and learned a lot. The old city is lovely and driving further out the old town with bicycles was a great experience !!!
Tried the Tallinn Free Tour back in mid-May. Blessed with good weather but even more importantly blessed by having Heli as the guide to take around. Learnt interesting history and culture of Estonia, and the places/restaurants she recommended were indeed excellent. She was probably the best tour guide I've had in my travels - enthusiastic, pretty, knowledgeable and great sense of humour (deserves the beer). The tour contributed to a very positive impression of this pretty city. Thank you Heli and keep it up!
We joined the very nice free walking tour with Katrin. Two hours of information, stories and tales about Tallinn, Estonia and Estonian people. It was a great tour with a fantastic guide! Tänan, Katrin!!!
2 hours was a great amount of time to get a good snapshot of the old town. Our guide Mairy was brilliant- energetic and kept the information concise but interesting!
Our group of three couples from Texas had an awesome day in Tallinn with Olga last week. We all agree that she is the best tour guide we have ever had. She is very knowledgeable, professional, loves Tallinn, and has a sweet personality. We learned a lot about this great city in the one day we were there. Our group travels a lot together and do these personal tours often. We always have great fun and she just added so much to it. Our sense of humor just clicked with hers. We felt like she was our daughter early into the tour. Thanks, Olga!
Absolutely awesome tour of the Old Town in Tallin. Our guide's, Jüri's, enthusiasm and joy were contagious. You could see he really enjoys what he is doing and is great at it: great historical knowledge and a wonderful sense of humour, open to chat and provide additional information, very friendly. The tour practically flew by - when I looked at my watch I couldn't believe how late it is, since the trip was so engaging. I can definitely recommend touring with Jüri, he will make you fall in love with Tallin.
The tour guide Catherine was amazing, great communication and knowledge! I trully recommend if you want to know the history and fun facts about this amazing city!
The Swiss Junior Nationalteams in Curling made a great tour with guide Liine. Just brilliant!!! Scary stories, interesting facts, scintillating wit, coherent language - and of course the hot chocolate afterwards. Thank you!
We did the tour yesterday Feb 19 with the fantastic Liine. I would highly recommend going on it. In 2 hours we did a thorough circuit through old town & got an entertaining insight into the history of Estonia & Tallin as well is its key monuments & buildings.
I did the walking tour with Liine in early February, it was snowing and cold but her stories were interesting and were well worth it! Actually the snow made it kind of beautiful... The guides on free tours are always more fun and making a greater effort so in the end you tip them happily, even more than you'd pay for a normal tour. Thanks Liine!
We just finished the tour with our guide liine. Although it was snowing we did not mind the cold weather, the stories made it all worth it. And of course the hot chocolate afterwards. Best thing to do to get to know the city in a short time. Greetings!
Liine showed us around Tallinn Old Town on Dec 31st. She spoke excellent English with a wonderful sense of humour that made our experience particularly enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable and imparted just enough detail on buildings, history and events to give us the information without over-loading our heads with too much detail. However, when detail was requested Liine was always forthcoming. I would wholeheartedly recommend this trip.
Amazing! Liine was a great guide with wonderful english skills. It was very exciting to hear her talking about Tallinn history and city stories. I really enjoyed the tour that actually didn't feel like a tour but more a relaxing and engaging discover of the city. I look forward to going back to Tallinn and discover more about the city's corners, legends, culture,... wow! Thank you Liine.
Did the Tallin tour with Liine, was very informative and much fun! Thank you, Liine!! Also was impressed how multi national was my group, all the way from south america to Hong Kong! Cool Best of luck, guys, with your tours!
Thanks to the great weather and our funny, energetic guide Heli I had a great time. We saw the best parts of the old town, got to know some very interesting stories and got tips for other things to see and do. I can only recommend this tour!
Despite the shocking near-freezing rain, we had a very nice time with Katrin, who bravely guided us around the Old Town. Katrin is a very informative and considerate person and I would not hesitate in recommending her for any tour.
Tallinn was a great place with friendly people and Liina was no exception. The walk revealed places we had missed during our stay, both her energetic and knowledgeable way of explaining tales and legends was exceptional. recommend this to anyone but be aware there are plenty of steps and cobbles.
We had a very informative old town tour with a wonderful guide who met the six of us at the cruise dock on September 4th. She gave us time to stop whenever we wanted to take pictures and never rushed us. So much better than taking a bus tour with 40 extra people. Would recommend this tour highly.
Totally loved Tallinn free walking tour with Aurelia. It was not my first time in Tallinn, but definitely the most informative. Not only she gave us the history of Tallinn from the middle ages up to XXth century, she also included controversial topics of today, as well as the general opinion and ideas of the locals and interesting information about Estonia in the Soviet era (the common, everyday things the things you cannot find in books, totally loved it!). I would recommend everyone to go to this tour and hope to get Aurelia as a guide as she is very warm and cheerful person - the tour was a real pleasure!
My wife, adult son and I did the Old Town walking tour with Mart in late August. a great tour - interesting, moderate pace, acknowledged different perspectives about history and recent events. very willing to answer questions. Mart is a credit to his country. while no donation was demanded, we happily provided several Euros per person.
Myself, husband and two children had such an interesting 2 hours with the lovely guide Merily. Tallinn is a really beautiful town with such a history and our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate whilst telling us all about it. We were only there for a day but could have stayed much longer and plan to go back soon. Can't recommend the Tallinn Old Town Walking Tour enough - great guide, a good lot of information given about the history and culture of Tallinn and Estonia, lovely surroundings, what more could you want? Thanks for making it such a great day for us!
Liine gave us a great tour of Tallinn, fantastic sense of humor, handled a large group extremely well and kept us engaged through rain and sunshine!!
We went on the ghost tour in Tallinn in August 2014. Liina was an amazing tour gide, she's a very good story teller!! Also she has a nice sense of humor. We've already been two days in Tallinn, but during the tour we saw new interesting places. Afterwards we went together to Pierres Cholocats for a nice cup of hot chocolat! Price, including the drink, was 13 euro and well worth it!
I highly recommend to come on this tour. Our guide was Mairi. She was really wonderful! She was very positive, energetic, knowledgeable and with great sence of humour.her excursion is very informative, with her you will know a lot of inreresting facts about Estonia and Tallinn. Thanks a lot, Mairi!
We just had a great tour with Mart and learned not just about Tallinn but about all Estonian history. He was well informed and spoke an excellent english. Thank you.
We joined the free walking tour. Excellent guide Mart (August 14, 2014)! Highly knowledgeable (considering his young age), excellent English, great communitation skills, very good at dealing with a large group of people, amusing. Well done! Wishing you, Mart, all the best! The only criticism would be putting all the blame on the Soviets during WWII. Didn't Germans cause any destruction then; just occupied Estonia without any fights?
We are from California and were in Tallinn with family (four adults and five kids) on August 11 and had the good fortune to have a private tour with Kathryn. She was well-informed, friendly and made a special effort to answer our questions. We highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Tallinn for a day or more. Thanks again Kathryn!
A little minus was the fact that during summertime it's not really dark by 8pm. Maybe it could be a little bit later? But the lack of darkness did in no way ruin the tour atmosphere thanks to the great storytelling! The stories were interesting and spooky at the same time and found out lots of interesting things about Tallinn Old town. Totally worth the 13€, plus the hot chocolate at the end of the tour was amazing. Can totally recommend the tour!
I arranged a Best of Tallinn car and walking tour for our group of 8 cruising in June 2014. Iida was our guide and was so engaging and informative that we all enjoyed the day immensely. Her English is excellent and she shared her knowledge of the history and local life in a way that made us all want to know more. She was unfailingly gracious and patient in answering our questions and took us to a wonderful lunch spot out of the touristy area. Everyone complimented me on finding such a great tour! Thanks Iida and Tallinn Traveller for making Tallinn a highlight of our trip.
We booked a private walking and bike tour for the four of us. Our guide was Indrik who was very knowledgeable and showed us the sites of beautiful Tallinn. It was one of the highlights of our Baltic cruise. The first part was a walking tour through the old town. It was early so the streets were nice and quiet. We enjoyed our coffee break in a nice cafe before our bike tour. Thanks Indrik for an enjoyable glimpse of your beautiful city.
Our visit to Tallinn was a highlight of our 2 week vacation. Our guide, Linna, was fantastic...one of the best we have had among many tours in Europe. She was friendly and engaging. Our kids loved all of her stories....especially the ghost stories! Our group encompassed 3 generations...from 9 years old to 77 and everyone had a great time! We liked this tour in particular with both the biking and walking components.
Took the Tallinn Old Town Walking Tour with our guide Aurelia. A great way to see this fantastic part of the city in a more intimate setting than the sometimes crowded free tours. Only 7 in our group which was great. Aurelia was a fantastic guide with a very outgoing personality. The 2 hours was just the right amount of time to get a good overview of the town and is also a great was to orientate yourself to continue exploring afterwards. Would definitely recommend this tour for those who enjoy a good walking tour.
My family and I, five of us, scheduled a private tour since we came on a cruise and were trying to avoid the mob scene. George, our guide was fantastic, he had tons of energy and you could tell how much he loved relaying the history of Tallinn and Estonia in general. Our private tour was about 2 1/2 hours, George showed us a little extra after we were enjoying ourselves so much. Over by the university we were fortunate enough to see some of the exhibits being put together for the Lillie fair if I can remember correctly. Tallinn is a beautiful little town surrounded by medieval walls with a couple gorgeous churches and quaint side streets. I cannot say enough how surprised and how much we will cherish our tour with George.
On Monday 12th of May me and my classmates spent a very interesting and fun hour seeing Tallinn thanks to Tallinn Traveller Tours and their fabulous guide Aurelia. We had already had quite of a long day but because of the guide’s enthusiastic attitude, great vocabulary and intensive and confident way of speech we more than managed to stay awake. We actually enjoyed the tour and learned a lot. Aurelia had lots of interesting information to share with us and she was even able to make the learning experience entertaining with her accurate, informative but also humoristic stories about Tallinn’s history. Her spoken English was excellent and she seemed to be very enthusiastic about her topic which definitely came through to the whole audience and made it even more fascinating for us to listen to. We were lucky to have her as our tour guide. Would definitely recommend Tallinn Traveller Tours and Aurelia for everyone visiting the city.
We opted for the 2 hour group walking tour of the old town, and would recommend this to anyone going to Tallinn. As it happened there were only the two of us, but our guide was so bubbly and interesting that it great fun. It really felt as though we were being shown around Tallinn by an old friend. The communication before the tour was great (we did it all by email) and was all very easy. Ann was our tour guide, and she gave us a lot of interesting information that I don't think we would have easily found out (plus it's so much easier being told than reading lots of guidebooks!!) as well as local knowledge - and she made us laugh so much!
Well done Tallinn Traveller Tours and thanks to our wonderful guide Heli, one of the best tour guides you could ever hope for. A wonderfully bubbly and energetic young lady with a real talent and passion for storytelling. Superb English too. Over the 2 hours she told lots of great ghost tales with an wicked sense of humour and captivated her audience totally. Among these ghostly tales she added a few other historic details and quirky, funny anecdotes. You cover quite a distance walking around the beautiful streets of the old town but you get a real great feel for the town and some wonderful views from the viewing platforms at the top of the town. It can be a bit steep uphill but everyone should be able to manage and we'll worth the views. Heli organised a nice drink for everyone at a really cosy cafe at the end of the tour which is a really nice way to finish off a great tour. So where you're next in Tallinn check out this Ghost tour and if all their tour guides are as good as Heli you'll have a great evening. 10/10 to Tallinn Traveller Tours, great value at 13€, well done and thank you!
I joined the awesome walking tour with Heli. Thanks for all these interesting stories and silly jokes!
I took this tour, and it really really made my day. Seriously, thank you Heli, it was awesome!
Heli was our guide around Tallinn on 23 Nov. What a fantastic and enthusiastic guide. She made the Old Town come alive and her delivery and knowledge was impeccable. Thanks Heli!
We altogether three people took the free walking tour in July 2013. We really enjoyed it as Celia, our guide, answered all our questions and has her own enthusiastic way of getting knowledge across so that you can't stop listening. Overall this tour is an amazing offer which we would recommend and would love to take part in again.
I took Tallin free tour. The tour was awesome as well as the guide Heli;) i would highly recommend this tour to everyone visiting Tallin. It is fun and you learn a lot about the city and citizens)))
Did the free walking tour today. I thoroughly enjoyed this and found it very informative and our guide charming. Her name is Hellii (?) and she was challenged by 3 people in the group when she told us that Tallinn was bombed by the Russians in 1944 - 300 planes she said and it destroyed a large part of the city. Her challengers said that Russia didn't have an air force so it can't be. I just googled - Wikepedia confirmed exactly what she said. So, there you go - the tour comes with a highly recommended from me.
We as a group of 15 roughly people took the free walking tour. We had a lot of fun and I still remember a lot of the interesting stories about Tallinn. Thank you Heli for this amazing experience!
We had a fantastic time in Tallinn last month thanks to Aurelia and Tallinn Traveller Tours. Aurelia was such an incredible, amazing and knowledgable guide! She was so very enthusiastic about showing us around this historic city and her English was great. We would happily recommend Aurelia and Tallinn Traveller Tours to anybody.
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Ann (blonde hair) last week (August 12th). We had a 3 hour private tour. Ann showed us around both the historic district and parts of the new town. Ann was extremely knowledgeable and shared with us many historical and fun facts about Tallinn and Estonia. We were very impressed and we highly recommend Ann for a tour guide. Visiting Tallinn was a fantastic experience.
joined the old town walking tour on today. the guide, Hely, did a great job introducing this history of the monuments as well as Estonia. through her jokes and informations given as we walked the old town, I do learn a lot about this beautiful place.
Great tour from Mart. He explained the history brilliantly and really brought the many century-long struggles to life.
Helli (hopefully I spelled it right) was our tour, and she was excellent! This was by far the best tour we had this two week vacation. She gave us a lot of insight into Estonia's history and culture. As soon as I got home watched at her recommendation 'A Singing Revolution' and 'Disco and Atomic War' (thank you). She was funny, very well informed and spoke excellent English. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.
Free Tallinn Walking Tour - With 20+ walking tours behind me, Anne has to be one of the best guides I have seen in a long time... She has the perfect balance between info and humor. You cannot go wrong her being your guide in this beautiful city so SIGN UP NOW before someone else books her for a tour.
MAIRI was wonderful guide for my group of 35 persons. Her commentary was an excellent balance of historical facts., humorous anecdotes and mysterious folktales. Mairi has a strong melifulous voice but what I particularly enjoyed was how she mixed a sense of humour with an edge of personal cynicism. I think she could well expand her career as professional guide to, with a little work on the script, and become a celebrity standup comedian.
First of all because we did not expect such a wonderful city and furthermore because we never had such a great guide before. Heli: We absolutely thank you for the best tour ever and a great time in a great city! We highly recommend this tour to everybody visiting Talinn and surely will come back to see some more and sing and dance along with the Estonians!
The 15th of may, in Tallinn, we had a chance to meet a very efficient travel agency, " Tallinn Traveller tours " as we thought of having a tour through the outstanding Lahemaa National Park. Quite by chance, we got a guide for both of us, Mart, whose proficiency and kindness deserve to be highly praised. Thanks to him, we could stroll through the park for not least than ten hours ( ! ) for a rather fair price, so that we could see prominent aeras and discover some scarcely visited spots. We did enjoy this trip and we warmly recommand this excellent agency to those who are keen on unusual discoveries. Pierre et Catherine de Paris
We arranged this excursion on the Internet as an 'off ship' excursion on 14 May 2013. It was excellent on every level, highly professional, personal attention from a very pleasant young man with stacks of knowledge. We would highly recommend this company to anyone and will not hesitate to book with them again particularly as it represents very good value for money apart from anything else.
Awesome walking tour very fun and informative!;)
Ann gave us an amazing tour of the old Tallinn town. She was engaging and enjoyable, despite accommodating for close to 100 people. Definitely recommended.
Had a great time on the free city walking tour. It took about an hour, My guide was Anne and she was a good guide to listen to. We were taken around some of the famous sites around the old town. We met at the tourist information centre very close to the old town square. Anne was both very informative and charismatic.
Here is a link to a review from one of the leading newspapers in Norway: http://www.dagbladet.no/2013/01/08/tema/reise/tallinn/storbyferie/ferie/25089042/ There is also a video from some of the Free walking tour The text is written in Norwegian but Google translate did a quite good translation to English.
Heli was very enthusiastic and helpfull. Thanks Heli for wonderfull tour. May god bless you and wish you have a wonderfull life. Thanks for your help :).
I want to thank out tour leader Heli for a both informative and fun tour of Tallinn. It was great despite the awful weather.
Had an amazing walking tour with Heli today, very informative and enjoyable, had a great sense of humour which made the tour all round fun. Cheers :)
We spent 3 fantastic days in Tallin last August and fortunately we visited the Traveller Tours Office . It was a great tour, the information was very interesting and given with lots of humor. HELI i hope you'll get the OSCAR this year....you are absolutely professional. We love you!
It was a really great tour, without all the boring parts, because the information was given in an exciting way, with lots of humor! Thanks o lot, you made my day! :D
I had the great pleasure of participating in the "Tallinn Ghost Tour" guided by the hilarious Heli Jurisson on 14 August. With her tremendous enthusiasm and razor-sharp wit, she made the undead come alive with her magnificent storytelling.
Great tour. Our guide Helle was hilarious, entertaining and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend.
Grazie Kristina.
Despite the fact that it rained, rained, rained our tour guide, Ana V. made experiencing Tallinn a fantastic experience. She is witty, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgable. I loved hearing her quirky facts and real opinons and not being fed the tourist line of information. We learned so much about the history of Tallinn & Estonia. We came on a cruise ship and chose not to take the cruise tours because I know they did not experience Tallinn as my group did. Thanks Ana. You made the day wonderful and fun. Thanks for the tip on Tallinn Vana; its sinfully delicious. I highly recommend taking the Old Town walking tour ( July 2012)
Hello, Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time when we visited Tallinn. We took the Old Town Walking Tour and enjoyed it very much. Our tour guide Ann Vaida was well informed and had lots of good information to give us about the old city and present day Tallinn and Estonia. She was friendlly , outgoing and well informed. Our tour was a leisure one and we visited and saw all that we had planned to see and more in the short time we had in port. We really enjoyed ourselve touring and chatting with Ann. We will highly recommend this tour company to others. Thanks for making our time in Tallinn special. Edwin and Marilyn Udoji. July 10, 2012
Ghost tour july 2012 I've jjust been on a wonderful Ghost tour with Stacy as a guide. You've made my day and it was a surprising and very nice ending of the tour.:-) I really enjoyed both the trip and the chat.
The Old town walking tour was excellent; the tour guide Heli, was funny, articulate, informative, memorable. We learned a lot about the history and the present state of Tallinn, and Estonia! highly recommended - the best way to enjoy the old town of Tallin, July 9th 2012
We just returned from a trip to Tallinn. Ann gave our group a wonderful, memorable walking tour. Even though it was a rainy day, we hardly noticed, because of Ann's enthusiasm and energy!
Just back from a trip to Tallinn. One of the most interesting cities we have visited. Our walking tour was just great. We had a terrific guide-Margus- he was full of life & fun. Not your usual serious guide. Well done. We will be bac
Ann was an excellent guide, amusing, knowledgable and vivacious. I thoroughly recommend this free tour of the town run by local uni students!
An excellent and informative 2 hour stroll around the old town with our guide Anne whose ability to be humourous in a foreign language was outstanding - and all at no charge too!!
Extremely good tour around Tallinn's old town. Brilliant ''performance" of sarcastic but, in fact, completely friendly Heli (14.02)! I would love to participate again :)
I did a walking and a bike tour through Tallinn and I really loved it. The guides had so many stories to tell. Thank you a lot.
Ann was a very nice tourguide with a good vibe that provided us with the information you need to have an enjoyable stay in tallinn! She did not only talk but also actively deal with us when we had questions or remarks. Thanks a lot for this!
Had a great time with Ann on the Walking Tour and with Anne on the Bike Tour. Well done and thank you all for making my stay in Tallinn so good!
Thank you Ann - your talk + walk was great fun even in the rain!
Even after a few days in the city, the walking tour just made the city even better, aware of the hidden gems... Great work!!!
I've done a lot of walking tours, and this was one of the best ever! The guide was knowledgeable, lively, and funny.
Just returned from a baltic cruise and one of the highlights was definitely the day we spent in Tallinn, much of that due to our excellent tour guide Anne who walked us around the wonderful city streets. The tour isn't one of the "routine" tours run by the main operators rather a fun, well informed wander around with a local, taking in areas that the larger tour groups miss. Definitely gets our recommendation!!
We had a great time on the walking tour, the young lady who ran the tour had a lot of great information and made the tour lots of fun, I would recommend this in a heartbeat :)
We just finished a 16 day trip that we're affectionately calling our "Medieval Tour" because we visited 11 European cities that had Old City Centers dating back to the 13th Century. Tallin was our last city tour (a total of 9 across 16 days) and Ann did an outstanding job. She kept us engaged, paced the tour so that my 77 & 78 y/o parents could keep up, and shared some fascinating (and mostly unpublished) pieces of information on her city. Highly recommend her and the Old Town walking tour group!
Ulena was really interesting and fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested to know Tallinn. Thank you!
It was a very refreshing and fast paced walking tour. We had a great number of people in our tour which made it a bit harder to hear everything, but it worked. Our tour guide was very informative in her description of the buildings and sites we were able to see. Her personal opinions reflected the "true history" of Tallinn! The tour started on time and ended on time which made the rest of our plans go smoothly.
Heli was great!
The walking tour with Heli on 7/18/11 was excellent!
We enjoyed the free tour, our guide didn´t save his own opinions, which was good to notice - you feel you get the real story instead of the tourist-stuff, an absolute must if you visit Tallinn!
Thank you for arranging for Ann to take us on the Russian walk. She was so informative, enthusiastic, and energetic. It was great fun to have an eighteen year old guide who was willing to take two seniors who needed to sit down to a great and funky place for something to drink.
Heli did an amazing job yesterday. I never thought a tour could be so interesting. Thanks very much. One of the highlights of my vacation for sure :)
Ülane provided an entertaining and educational tour of Tallinn during our recent visit. Historical facts mixed with local color provided a wonderfully narrated walking tour of a beautiful city. The time in Tallinn was one of the best of our Baltic vacation and a tour that was an excellent experience.
Elaine, I want to thank you for the tour of Tallinn towards the end of May. Your English was amazing as was your information. Your bubbly, energetic personally made the tour a wonderful adventure and experience. I wish you all the best in the future. You are wonderful, bright young lady with a lot of promise. Thanks again!
Thank you so much Elaine, I loved your tour (May 2011). You shared many fun facts, beautiful sites & folklore. Great introduction to Tallinn, must definitely return.
Best city tour ever, anywhere on the world! 2 hours over lunch time in the heat and not 1 second bored! thanks a lot for the many ghost stories!
This may have been the best travel dollars I have ever spent. Heli was superb and made wonderful Tallinn even better with her knowledge, fun personality, obscure facts and entertaining ways.
One of the best city tours I have ever taken and I have visited more than 40 countries.
We had a great time on your tour. It’s the first time my kids have not been bored. A good mix of history and general stories.
The old town tour is the best I have done since traveling through Europe for three months.
I’m a 55 year old American. I love those kids. They are a wonderful representation of Tallinn. The walking tour was one of the best I’ve been on and I have toured 5 continents. And I look forward to them next year.
Refreshingly honest and informative, youthful alternative to the conventional official city story.
Fantastic service. The walking tour was one of the best I have been on. And after 40 countries I have been on a few.
All our tour guides are young educated locals so the tours feel more like discovering with a local friend.
With us you'll explore the highlights, but also experience authentic less-discovered destinations.
We want everyone to get personal attention from the guide so we aim to keep our groups rather small.
