Katrin provided a great tour with interesting information and insights. We were able to squeeze additional sights in being a private tour. Katrin also gave some great dinner suggestions for after the tour. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience from start to finish
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Tallinn and Lahemaa Park. Kullo was an excellent guide. He shared lots of interesting history with us in the city and catered the walk to our interests. We loved the national park and getting out into nature. The swim in the bog was incredible. It was a really unique landscape. We also enjoyed the waterfall and singing grounds. The whole day was excellent and we really appreciated getting picked up and dropped off at the cruise terminal so we could enjoy as much of the tour as possible. Absolutely would recommend!
Our guide, a history teacher on summer break, couldn't have been better. He listened to what we wanted to see, was easy to have a conversation with and was very professional. We were only there for the day and were amazed at how much we were able to see and do. Couldn't recommend this tour and this guide more!
Walked around old town and drove around highlights of Tallinn. Kert was a wealth of information and very knowledgable about the area and the history of Estonia. Great value - loved the tour
Mariel kept me busy for almost 5 hours, showing me the highlights of Tallinn Old Town during the walking tour, then we drove to Kadriorg where we enjoyed a nice tea and to Pirita. For her first tour, I think she did pretty well and I really enjoyed learning about Estonian history, culture and more generally life in Estonia. Such a beautiful country that I would love to further discover. Thank you Mariel!
Our guide, Kert, was amazing. He is a history teacher and went above and beyond!! He even stayed well over the time for the tour. You can tell he loves what he does. We keep using his quote “Life is Life”

Our tour guide, Marie, was excellent! Her knowledge of the facts was obvious, and she related them well. In addition, she let us get to know her as a person along with her culture. Several people on the tour told me she was the best guide they ever had.
We were on a cruise and wanted to make the most of our time in Tallinn. We certainly made the most of it! Our guide was lovely, and showed us so much of this lovely city. I definitely want to go back. Only marking 4 stars, as the pick up was stressful. I'd specifically asked for pick up from the cruise port as my Mother-in-law has limited mobility. Half an hour after we were supposed to be picked up, and after numerous phone calls I was finally told we needed to walk outside of the cruise port to meet our guide. Better communication and instructions from the office would have been appreciated in advance (thank goodness I had a phone or we would never have made our tour). Highly recommend - just be clear on pick up location.
Simon was fabulous! Enjoyed the tour, knowledgable and his company! Spoke about the old and the new! Thank you!
We explored the highlights around Tallin with our expert guide, Sten. He was the best guide we have ever had. His logistics were perfect, and we were able to enjoy everything we wanted to see with plenty of time to enjoy all. Sten had encyclopedic knowledge of everything - culture, history, wildlife, geology, military history, and food. We especially liked looking for fossils at the base of the coastal cliffs. He was an excellent and safe driver. We even had time for a nice lunch at a lovely cafe that Sten recommended. Above all we want to thank Sten for going way beyond his duties because he helped us with a first aid urgency (something from the days before and not a result of anything we did on our tour). At the end of our tour, he took us to a medical clinic that he had made many calls to arrange an appointment. The doctor saw us immediately and Sten remained with us until he knew all was going to be OK. The entire day was absolutely beyond our expectations. We wish Sten continued success with his career working with the Railway Baltica extension and hope he continues to provide superb tourist guiding in his extra time.
Eight of us booked the 5 hour tour while we were visiting on a cruise. It was our best tour with the best guide. Chris picked us up and dropped us off at the cruise terminal. Chris was informative and passionate as he told us about Tallinn history while walking us through the old town and pointing out important buildings and landmarks. The town is beautiful, and the history is interesting and sad at times, but that of resilient people. We then got into the van went to Kadriorg Palace. Chris dropped us off at a great cafe and then drove up to the other end of the park and walked back. While he did that we ordered our pastries and sat down and rested for a bit. He caught up with us and we all finished up and made the walk through the park to the palace. We walked further to the presidential palace where the president actually lives. Unbelievably we were able to talk right in front of it. There were a couple of guards but there was not a sense that they need to worry. We ended with a drive to an up and coming neighborhood in Tallinn that is repurposing old buildings and making high end apartments. We were back to the ship with an hour to spare which is how we like it. The day was wonderful. Chris was amazing. As we walked by the cruise groups with 50 people, we kept saying…. This was the way to go.
We had Loviise and despite that it was really cold and drizzling rain the whole time, she kept the spirit up and told joke after joke about Tallinn and Estonia.
Sten was a great guide and knew a lot of history by heart about the areas we went to. The sun was also very nice on the day and it was an enjoyable experience away from the city.
It was a fun sunny day with Stan as we explored the countryside . We enjoyed the beautiful coastal cliffs , amazing the Keia Joa Falls and surrounding area . We saw the Rummu quarry and heard a lot of interesting stories and its history of prison tales . We had delicious lunch at a local cafe and the Russian airplane that seems to have been part of Star Wars series. Thanks Sten for a beautiful sunny day !
Kris our guide was so knowledgeable and extremely accommodating to what we want to know and do. We have learned a lot about Tallin with the old town tour, the area of revival where the train tracks are, the area by the port and the contrasting memorials built by the Soviets and the one built by the locals to commemorate those who were tortured and died from the atrocities and the presidential palace and the Kardiog palace that now serves as the museum. Thanks Kris! Hope to come Back in better weather to explore the Lahemaa park.
Great tour around the countryside and tour guide very knowledgeable about history.
This was by far the best surprise of our quick trip. the five hour tour flew by. Really glad we booked this. Our guide was very informative and accommodating for an older person in our group. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a great background for the various buildings and sights we toured. I would highly recommend the five hour tour if you can. It really made all of our group want to comeback and explore more for our next trip.
Amazing old town. Deserves UNESCO heritage designation
We had a fantastic private tour of the old city with our guide. She was so knowledgeable and patient. She knew a lot of history and had great recommendations for us. I’d recommend this for anyone.
Our guide was highly knowledgeable and very personable. Her insights into Tallinn history and Estonian culture really helped us to understand the people of your country. Many thanks!
Tallinn is the focal point of our cruise ship itinerary, so we hired a private guide per Rick Steven's book recommendation. Uku, a Thermal Enginerring gradurate student, showed up and gave us an unforgettable tour fully of history, stories, and pride, a highlight of our entire trip. Highly recommend!!!
Katrin was our guide in Tallinn. She met us at the pier early and had everything arranged. Our group included my wife and I and our niece who is in a wheelchair. The vehicle was a perfect fit. We definitely saw highlights and hidden gems. Katrin is a wealth of knowledge. We got caught in a rain shower but that did not stop the tour. She was able to show us several things from the car and provided historical and personal details that made our tour great. I would recommend this to everyone.
Our group of 8 people just returned from our Baltic Cruise. One of the highlights of our holiday was our Best of Tallinn Tour provided by Traveller Tours. This was a walking tour of the Old Town combined with a driving tour to some areas outside of the usual crowded tourist areas. Our guide, Kert, was excellent. Being a teacher, he was able to provide a lot of historical information to our group in a a way that was both interesting and fun for everyone. Tallinn is a beautiful city that is rich in history. Therefore, a tour like this was extremely worthwhile as opposed to simply walking around without obtaining all of the information that we learned. In addition to the standard "touring," we stopped at a local restaurant for lunch. When the tour was finished, Kert gave us useful information for things to do on our own in the old town prior to returning to our ship. The booking process was seamless and the price was excellent value for the quality that we received. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tallinn and would enthusiastically use them again in the future.
We had a great time with Thomas our guide. It was really fun and his knowledge was excellent!!
We had a fabulous time on the Coastal Cliffs Tour, and our guide Kert was extremely knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure.
Our guide, Katlin, was super knowledgeable and funny, I had a very pleasant day with her and the group. The tour was also well structured and you get to see lots of beautiful places! Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful time with Chris! Informed us of the history and politics of Estonia and Tallinn, in particular!!!
We booked a private tour with Traveller Tours. Uku was our guide and he was wonderful! He drove us around the park and then to visit the old town, and he really knows everything. We appreciate him very much, because we spent the day learning so much information from estonian culture. Maybe our best day there! Thanks Uku!
Nice landscapes and some post-Soviet abandoned places. The guide tells about the history of Estonia in an interesting way. A good option for people who want to see a piece of Estonia without renting a car. Thanks to Kätlin for the great day!
We booked the costal cliffs tour. I booked this as a private tour because my family is tall and the website states that a private van is the means of transport. We were disappointed to pay extra to have to ride in our drivers personal vehicle a small hatchback. It seemed unfair to charge us the premium for this. When I raised the issue I basically was told no vans were available and they were sorry. This should have been communicated up front especially because I booked the tour well in advance. Our guide however was wonderful. He was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. We really enjoyed our day with him we just felt a little taken advantage of by the company.
IT was a wonderful trip by food and bike.
The guide is AWESOME and so knowledgeable. If you want a heavy dose of beauty, history, and adventure then this is a must-do on your trip to Estonia.
We had a wonderful time with Sten and it was just the three of us. Sten even added in extra bonus stops for us at the begining and end to catch a beautiful sunset. We had a lovely time and got to see a natural phenomenon not seen for over 20 years in the national park!
Our Guide Kurt (History Teacher) met us at the head of the pier. We drove in to town, where we walked through the upper part of town to see all of the look out points. All the while, he gave us some history of the area and anecdotal stories of the significance of each spot. We then made our way into the lower town and got a good insight in to how Tallinn evolved throughout the last 500 or so years. Then we drove to the Presidential Palace. As we walked through the grounds and the gardens around them. Kurt gave us a lot of good insight in to how Tallinn evolved through the different eras of rulers and occupations over the years. We went to the outdoor Amphitheater where they hold concerts and community singing events. Since he is a local he had some great stories about events he had attended. Afterward, we went to the WWII memorial. As a history teacher he was well versed in the historical significance of Tallinn, and how so many countries moved in and used Tallinn as a strategic location. I highly recommend this tour, if you are in Tallinn, or Estonia in general. Kurt, specifically was a wealth of information, and was a great tour guide.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to present the complexities of Estonia 's past in a balanced and often new perspective
Igor explained Tallinn’s unique history in an interesting and easily understandable way. Highly recommend as a starting point for learning about Tallinn and Estonia.
We had a superb day with a perfect guide. The tour was a fine balanced mix between wonderful places in nature and interesting historical places from medieval to Soviet aera. It gave us an insight in Estonian society and a better feeling for the country and their inhabitants. I can absolutely recommend this tour!
We had a wonderful time on our tour around some of the old Soviet sites and beautiful natural attractions of Estonia. Our guide Andres was friendly, flexible and extremely knowledgeable! Would highly recommend this excellent day out!
Had a great day out exploring many abandoned places and beautiful landscapes and Andres was a great guide!
A great tour in the wilderness and a real opportunity to visit the coastal regions of Estonia. Our guide Anders was great and especially at lunchtime where all cafés and restaurants seemed closed. In the end he found a great little café with a delicious menu for only €6 : Top
Nous avons adoré ce tour, notre guide a été très intéressante en agrémentant sa présentation avec des anecdotes personnelles ou familiales. Vraiment un super tour.
Nice nature and, sovietic history tour outside of Tallinn I would definitely recommend to join to discover other side this lovely cou tey
It is very amazing to see old Soviet places and learning about it, see the Baltic sea from beautiful view. A lot of things :) Only one negative feedback, the tour is too fast. I wish I had more time to savor the moment while visiting the places such us some times to see the sea or walking less spedly the:(
Beautiful cliffs and interesting places!
Great autumn tour even if it was a little rain.
My husband Pat and I opted for the private tour option since we only had a week in Tallinn, and without a rental car, we wanted to make the most of the trip by getting outside the capital for a bit. We took two private tours with Traveller, and neither one disappointed. On this tour, Sten picked us up promptly outside our AirBnB and gave us plenty of options of what we could go and see. Our response was "all of it." For the entire day (we left at 9am and got back around 5:30), we kept seeing one thing of beauty after another. Sten was so so knowledgeable about the history of Estonia, it's Occupation, it's subsequent Independence, what life is like now, and so much more. The highlight for me was climbing around the former limestone quarries and the flooded prison. If you're not afraid of heights, or, as he put it "to go mountain climbing in the country with no mountains", this is a real treat. Also the Soviet plane, now the home to a model airplane club, is surreal as you sit in pilot and Gunner seats and get transported back in time. We didn't only talk about the past, though. We talked hobbies, politics, culture, movies, etc. It really left us feeling like we'd made a friend in Estonia. I will absolutely recommend this company to anyone visiting the country.
We had the best day on this trip. Great history, great guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Loved every second! Thank you very much to Sten!
Our guide was friendly, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Thanks for the great tour
Great tour for those who want to venture out and see more of the areas outside Tallin centre. Was not disappointed. Particular highlights were the visit to the Prison Quarry, the waterfall and surprisingly for me, the Russian cargo plane. Marju is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide, giving the group great insight into the places we visited and history. The tour is great value for your money and I highly recommend.
The guide was excellent and the sights most interesting. It could be improved with headsets and the guide giving more of the history and politics of Estonia, especially during the quiet time between stops, we are generally ignorant of Estonia and would appreciate more information.
The guide was lovely and gave excellent explanations about the things we saw. Would have liked to be able to go into some of the abandoned apartments to see what Life was like in Soviet times. It was also a big coincidence that I met my high school principal on the same tour on the same day! I graduated from high school in Toronto in 1981 and the former principal is now 85 years old!
Marju was a wonderful tour guide and she answered all my questions during our bus rides between the stops. Loved seeing the sunken prison and the old Soviet plane - so cool! Highly recommend the tour to see outside the city for a day.
I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore more than just the old town of Tallinn and who is interested in the post Soviet space if Estonia. Our host Hannes was extremely knowledgeable and approachable both in respect of the tour itself and life in current Estonia. We covered a lot of ground from waterfalls to ex Soviet nuclear facilities to an authentic Russian meal to an old antonov transport plane now the headquarters of a model aircraft club. I'm only sorry that I missed the Narva trip but I intend to book that in advance when I next visit this fascinating country. Cheers Hannes and cheers to traveller tours!

Each location are beautiful, but walk around and photo time is a bit rush. Tour guide explanation are very detail (although I only got it around 60% understanding)
We were in Tallinn for one day on a cruise stop and wanted to see more than just the Old Town, and this tour was perfect for that. We met our guide at the cruise port and started with a guided walking tour of the Old Town early in the morning when it was quiet and then picked up the bikes and went for a ride around modern Tallinn, which was just as interesting. Our guide was personable and informative (with excellent English), and we all had a great time! Highly recommended.
The tour was up to only 8 people so, even though we just met, the atmosphere was close and very comfortable. Our guide was kind and funny that I enjoyed listening to him a lot. He told us about the history of Estonia and the relationship they had with the soviet. Not only did I enjoy the sightseeing but also the conversation with the local guide and it definitely is an unforgettable memory for me!
We booked a privat tour, so our guide picked us up right at the port and took us for the walking tour through the old town. She showed us around, explained the history to us and answerd all our questions, so that we got a glimps of Estonian life and culture. We chose to do the biking tour through the old industrial and Kalamaja district which turned our to be really beautiful. The only negativ point was that we originally wanted a German tour but due to a staff problem they couldn't offer that to us. In the end that was alright and our english tour was amazing.
The sites we went to were interesting and unexpected. It was nice to get outside and out of the city. It was a bit too much time squished into a minivan between the sites. Our group was very quiet and not chatty, so maybe if there had been more guided conversation while driving it would have felt less awkward/boring.
Our guide was very, very good. He even sang for us in the amphitheatre a snipit of the Estonia anthem. His knowledge was incredible for such a young man. Very polite, easy going and highly appreciated for his service.
At first, we wanted to do another tour but lack of availability we, a little disappointed, took the cliff tour. We were pleasantly surprised by the tour thanks to our very good guide. We loved our day. In addition, our guide was not only very professional and friendly but also an excellent driver. Thank you very much for her.
I went on this trip with my son 11 years old not really expecing anything specific but "something interesting". As it turned out it was even far better than I expected. We got to see some really interesting places and a lot of beautiful sceneries. That itself would have been well worth the cost of the tour. But in addition our guide Robert was fantastic, he gave us a great history lesson about Estonia and created an exciting context to all we saw (and much more...). So both of us 49 and 11 years respectively were really satisfied with this tour and can recommend it to anyone no matter of age or interests!

This way of visiting Tallinn is probably the best way to explore Tallinn! We (family of 4) got a lot of information about the history and everyday life of the Estonians and we loved the personal talk we have had with Hanna.
We fell in love with Tallin while before we knew nothing about the city and very little about Estonia. Our guide was remarkably knowledgeable, was wonderfully personable, plus a great sense of humor. Take this tour and discover beautiful Tallin!
It was a very interesting day knowing the nature, cliffs, forests, landscape and history of Estonia and having a great time with our excellent guide Katrin T
We were a party of 6 and had a private walking tour with Helen, 26, a native of Tallinn. Helen was very articulate and fun and she knew a lot about Estonian history. We visited many countries on our trip and I think Estonia was one of my favorites because of the walking tour! We went to many landmarks, we walked to two overlooks, we went to the upper city and the lower city, and we stopped here and there to listen the history and stories. We would definitely recommend this walking tour and Helen!
This was a really excellent and informative tour. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was equally amazing. From the 19th Century Bunker to the beach at Paldiski and the grounds at Padise Monastery, our guide Marju was full of energy and very knowledgeable about everything. She brought the past to life and together with Oliver, they were very friendly and contributed towards a very enjoyable day. The stop at the roadside cafe was good fun, allowing us all to get to know each other a bit more. The meatloaf was very tasty too! We took a walk at a park where the grounds were very impressive and filled with greenery. Our trip to the Rummu Quarry was a highlight with stunning views of a unique area. The chance to sit in a Soviet Cargo Plane was something I will never forget. Thank you Marju, Oliver and Traveller Tours for an unforgettable experience.
Fascinating and fun
The highlights were two Soviet-related stops on the tour. First was an abandoned military bunker near the coast. We saw the bunker and then headed inside. It was much larger/longer than expected and we saw where the missile launchers had been. Another stop was an abandoned limestone quarry. After it was mined, there was no need to continue to pump out water, and so it naturally filled up-flooding low-lying buildings. Now that area is used as a local swimming quarry--swimming and snorkeling in clear water around the buildings that had been flooded. Quite unusual. Of course the views along the coastal cliffs were also lovely to see.
Lovely to venture beyond Tallinn to see a little of the Estonian Countryside and the west coast. We stopped at Nova Beach and Spitham Point - very pleasant. Saw Haspsalu castle and the railway station, but was disappointed we had no free time for a wander around Haapsalu on our own - especially as weather was beautiful.
I booked this tour after doing the Riga to Tallinn Tour with TravellerTours. Both were fantastic, this one was nice because you spent more time at the sights than in the van, due to the cliffs being so close to Tallinn. I'm terrible with names, so I forget our guide's name, but he was friendly and knowledgeable and made for a good trip. The lunch in Paldiski was also quite good, get the meat dumplings.
Last week, my family and I went on the Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski Tour. We very much appreciated the beautiful and varied scenery but also the different historical sites. Our tour guide, Kert, was amazing: his knowledge and passion for history was truely fascinating ! We all really loved this trip !
We had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the country's history and also about the places we visited. Amazing guide as well !
A very interesting trip where the history and beauty of Estonian Nature are mixed equally. The visit inside the Antonov 12 is a must for aviation lovers! Very good work by our guide.
The tour was very comfortable and tons of fun. Our tour guide was amazing
We took a walking and bicycle tour thru Tallin. Our guide, Maria, was great and provided interesting stories about the old town Highly recommend
Perfect guide, nice girl
Both ships (Star and MegaStar) are very well equipped.
We enjoyed our tour and are very glad we did it. Many articles we read said to do Tallin on your own...we would have never gotten so much out of our visit if we had done that. Going out to the memorial for the Estonians that were sent to Siberia was a great stop as it showed us the hard times that the Estonian people went through which was something new for us to learn about. Andres was a very good guide and would answer any questions we had. He clearly knew a lot about the country and provided an interesting perspective on Estonian life. However at several points throughout the tour while we walked between stops he would be very quiet not telling us anything new. We had to ask him about things for him to share the information which was the only bad thing I have to say about him. The only other reason we gave it 4 instead of five stars was the lack of structure at first. When we got in the van he asked us what we wanted to see, but we had never been there before so we had no idea. We had thought it was a specific tour but that was not necessarily the case. Andres still adjusted to our lack of direction and everywhere he brought us was great. Additionally the lunch spot had a great selection of Estonian food which was delicious and Andres explained the backgrounds behind the different dishes. We were very happy with the tour and would recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about such an interesting city.
A perfect day seeing far more than just Paldiski. Gregor took us to view cliffs so we begin with geology, and that led on to the waterfalls at a Manor House which was the place to briefly relate the history of the Estonians from pagan resisters to the present day. Greg is a proper historian who delivers his subject lightly and well. Then we turned up at a former Soviet missile base just as a rocket was prepared for launching on the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. On to some lighthouses, compounds of cars destined for Russia, and a nice pub lunch. Highlight was the amazing submerged prison quarry ( as seen on Abandoned Engineering TV prog) and lastly we boarded an Antonov Soviet plane. The guiding was just right, not too didactic. And we covered ground to see what we would have trouble finding without Greg. Thank you for a superb day!

Marju gave us a very good introduction to the old town of Tallinn. She is a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide.
This walking tour was so easy to organise and it went just as we had requested. Our tour guide, Igor, met us at the requested place at the requested time. He was very well presented and was easy to understand. Igor was very knowledgeable about the city and gave us a very interesting and comprehensive tour, answering all of our extra questions. Nothing was too much trouble and he also helped us with our lunch options. Our group of 3 thoroughly recommend this tour.
Our guide Maria was awesome. She was very attentive to our desire to stop often for photos. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Her English was very fluent and easy to understand. It was an amazing day in a place that I now love!
It was fun traveling with Helen and Uku. Helen showed us nice spots in Tallinn and we got to know the stories behind the sights. That makes them so much more special! They were friendly and were great company. We saw glimpses of the Sound Festival. Uku showed us a great restaurant for us to grab a bite. Lastly Helen took some great photos of us!
The tour was excellent, as was the guide we had. It was a jam packed tour for a port day (part of a Baltics cruise) so the operator was amenable to customizing the tour and starting as soon as possible, first thing in the morning. The group loved the tour and, including myself, was thoroughly exhausted by the end of the tour. Will come to these guys again when I do an Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania trip!
Our guide picked us up at the cruise ship. We had a slight difficulty finding her because we did not realize we needed to walk outside the wire fence to find her. But she was right there on time. She took eight of us in a van, and drove us to some locations that were outside old town. She spoke excellent English, and was a safe and careful driver. She was very pleasant to spend the day with. The memorial to the persons who died in Siberia was amazing, and well worth seeing, She had an excellent grasp of the issues and history of the memorial. Seeing the presidential palace and the the other country palace we could have skipped. Just exterior views of buildings, not necessary. I would have preferred more time walking around Old Town, learning about the architecture and hearing more of the history of Estonia. Because we spent time having lunch (which we needed to do.... a midday tour), our time in town was more limited.
Our guide Andres did a fantastic job of exploring the area around Tallinn as well as providing a detailed tour of the old town. Andres brought out the history, the culture and soul of the Estonians. He shared his perspective of the history of his country. The area outside of Tallinn was as fascinating as the old town. The Festival area, the Memorial and the Maritime Museum were meaningful, important sites. Kudos to him for bringing out the spirit of the country and allowing us to fall in love with the country and the people.
My family all said this was one of their favorites of our trip to Tallinn. Our guide Kert was great. Getting to see the old Soviet town, quarry/prison, abandoned base and cargo plane gave us a feel for life under the USSR rule. Getting to the coastal cliffs gave us some beautiful views.
I booked for this tour at the last minute and it was a good decision to do so. The natural beauty of the coastal cliffs and learning about Estonia in Soviet times made for an interesting day. Visiting the abandoned Murru prison quarry was a major highlight. Our lunch stop at a small restaurant/cafe was a chance to enjoy the best pastries I have ever eaten. The only reason I have not given five stars is because the tour did not visit the Padise monastery ruins as advertised - I am not sure why. Still, that apart, it was a really good day.
Julia’s discussion of the history and the architecture of Tallinn was outstanding.
Very pleasant and knowledgeable guide; well-thought out itinerary.
Love Tallin
The waterfall and the manor house are picturesque. The coastal cliff is simply spectacular, the highlight of the tour! We could spend the whole day wandering along the coast that covered with colorful wildflowers.
We had an excellent tour on 6/19/19. Very small group of 4 people plus our guide. Our guide was very informative and personable. Highly recommend if you want to learn about Estonia and see the countryside in a hassle free way.
My wife and I booked the old town bike and walking tour of Tallinn to start only a few hours after our arrival by ferry. It proved to be a great orientation to the city, as well as providing an overview of the history and culture of Estonia. Our guide, Marju, was excellent- well spoken, well informed and fun to be with. Our tour started with an easy bike ride to the eastern part of Tallinn, including the president’s house and the song fest stage, where we likely would not have visited on our own. Once back in the old town, we dropped off the bikes and continued our history lesson on foot, with a thorough coverage of the inner city. Our four hours with Marju really set us up well for the next few days in Tallinn.
A very interesting tour to the Cliffs , Country Park with Waterfall and onto Paldiski , a place that Fascinated me from afar ( Northern Ireland) A very informative Tour Guide who also took us to visit an old Russian Fighter Bomber . Not sure if our female guide was called Marju?
We did a private 4 hour biking and walking tour of Tallin with Maria as our guide during a port stop in Tallin on our Baltic Cruise. We had a wonderful day and were very pleased with our tour. It was nice to see some of the less touristy parts of Tallin as well as to tour the Old Town.
This tour was excellent. It was great to see the coastal area of Estonia which is very beautiful & quiet (great for nature lovers), and then on to a place which used to be a naval base in Soviet times (for me it had quite an eerie feel to it). The tour guide (Marju) was very friendly and answered any questions about the area & Estonia that I asked. Very pleased with this tour.
We had Andres as our guild and requested to go out to visit some of the lesser known places, He took us around to all of them and much more. Had great suggestions and after drove us back to the old town for a historical walking tour. He spoke English very will with a cool accent. :) Couldn’t have asked for anything better!
Marju was great explaining and answering our questions and looked after our needs as my wife has angina. There was just the two of us. This tour was recommended by another guide as it was very relaxing but took in lovely countryside and sea. Marju took us to a lovely cafe for lunch which was inexpensive but great choice and quality of food
This was exactly the experience we were hoping for — a chance to see some interesting, beautiful, historic and quirky things in and about Estonia. The guide was great, the itinerary is smart and gave us exposure to a lot during the day. Absolutely worth it!
We spent 3 hours with Maria in a walking tour and it really made our brief stay in Tallinn enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Showed us everything we wanted to see and more.
I had an absolutely amazing time on this tour! Booking was incredibly easy, then we headed out in a large and comfortable van. The group was small so our guide easily customized it to some of our interests. Having a guide for the abandoned Soviet sites is necessary - there is so much to see. Andres also knew the best spots to see the underwater prison from! I really highly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in the Cold War, as well as a desire to see the ocean.
Guide was excellent and took us to many places. She was very helpful and knowledgable. Unfortunately I can't remember her name.
We discovered interesting historical places along with beautiful views of beaches, a cliff and a waterfall. The guide explained in a very clear way the history and the most important events of Estonia that are mandatory to get know if you travel to this region. I strongly recommend to take this tour if you travel to Tallin/Estonia.
I really enjoyed this tour. Andres was very knowledgeable about the different places we visited. He also took us to a part of an old Soviet base to see some specific he talked about. His perspective on the recent history of Estonia made the tour even more interesting. I would highly recommend this tour and Andres as a tour guide.
Was a Great Tour with cool and top guide Marju and helps fromSigrid as we had to Drive in two Cars as a big Group! Russland Food was great. Helpfulminformation and a lot of History with Scenic coast interestings and surprising Spots ! Thanks for this experience!
Andres was good company and his insight on the estonian way of life added a lot to the experience. The 50€ was totally worth it. The places we visited were inpiring, offered a lot of variety and the small size of the group helped to keep the stress level down. The day was very relaxing and rewarding in many ways.
Marju took us on a tour of Haapsalu and West Coast. The weather was beautiful with blue sky and a brisk wind (Wrap off warm against the wind!) First stop was the rail station with abandoned Soviet trains, which was a reminder of the control and grandiose of the past, as well as the Soviet regime. We saw some lovely landscape at the North West of Estonia, and a picture postcard town of Haapsalu. There were some interesting medieval forts and ruins with ghost stories (The White Lady!) too. Marju took us to a fabulous cafe in Haapsalu for lunch. Here we were served the dish of the day and the loveliest cheesecake by a patient and friendly lady manager. We liked this tour - it was enhanced by Marju's personal experience of the Soviet, and her passion and interest in the state of the country and the EU. We thank you for a great Estonia experience!
Despite the cold and rainy weather this was a really fun and interesting tour. Haapsalu is beautiful.
The tour was very interesting and a lot of fun. Kert is an amazing guide.
It was a really great day trip to unusual sights if that what you like! The coastal views, the prison, the waterfalls and ex Soviet history, it was all amazing and Kert's extensive knowledge of the areas and history was brilliant!! Pick up and drop off were timely and lovely stops for breaks too. Thank you!!
Fui a Coastal Cliffs. Estaba frío pero había un lindo sol que nos permitió disfrutar de los acantilados y la cascada de Keila. La guía fue excelente, muy amable.
Marju was a fantastic tour guide who had great knowledge of Tallin and Estonia. The 3 hours was perfectly timed and we covered lots of sites. We would highly recommend.
Really lovely people to deal with and they were super helpful as it was a slow time of the year! This gives beautiful scenic views and aome very interesting history. The guides are young and vibrant and I have athritis in my foot so a bit slow and not qyite sure on my feet and our guide was brilliant and ever so helpful and understanding! Totally recommend
This was such an interesting and informative tour. As we were only in Tallinn for a few days we wanted a tour that would encompass as much as possible . This certainly did, we saw so much and learnt so much history from our guide who was so knowledgable. We had a wonderful time and was money well spent.
We saw a lot of things that we can't see without your trip. We saw a part of Estonian land different from Tallinn. Our guide Marju was great and very professional, she told us a lot of things about history, people and tradition of Estonian country. We also had a very good lunch in a very beautiful small restaurant in Haapsalu. Congratulations for your organisation of the trip and for the best guide MARJU!!!! I'll suggest TRAVELLER.EE to all my friends that will come in Tallinn.
As an expert in History, Marju could tell us a lot about old Estonia in general and about all the places we visited: the former Sovjet military town Paldiski, the ruins of the old monastery in Padise, the Sovjet transport airplane and the Murru prison quarry. We also got a lot of fun information about Estonians. An absolut fantastic tour!
The trip gave an overview of Estonian landscape and history, mainly from the Soviet domination times
Hindrek told a lot about the sightseeing, but also about Estiona itselfs. Hindrek told it on a very interesting way and was very well known en could almost give answer to all our questions. He told us also al lot about the history of Estiona and the Estonia society. Thank you for the very good tourguide!
We loved this tour- our guide did a fantastic job customizing this to our needs and making sure we did not get stuck with the crowds
We scheduled a 2-hour walking tour. Julia was very good and informative about the history of the city and its architecture. Unfortunately, it was a very rainy Sept 17 when we were in the town. The only suggestion from our group was we did not get inside any buildings, except for one church which only teachers or pastors were permitted in the altar area. I should have been more specific about what we would see and if it included going inside (other than those that had an entrance fee). Generally, under the weather circumstances, Julia was very interesting and fun. She led us to a great Tallin eatery for lunch for bread and soup to warm us up!
I had never been to Estonia and knew very little about its history, so this tour was incredibly interesting. The pick-up spot is very conveniently located near the town square, and the mini-bus that was used was very comfortable despite being completely full! The sea cliffs and the waterfall/park were beautiful. The various stops that highlighted the Soviet history of the country were incredible, as well - especially the old Soviet base that had been abandoned in the early 90s. I'm so glad I found this tour online - I really think it was a unique trip that most people who are visiting Tallinn for a short period wouldn't get to experience. I highly recommend!
The tour is a very good mix of Estonian nature (cliffs) and history (ruins of a monastery) as well as a distant Russian past (Peter the Great) and not so distant (ruins of a Russian air-missile base, an Antonov cargo plane).
Thank you Marju. Because of your passion we have learned so much of the history of your country. It was an excellent day in your company.
Laura was as enthusiastic as she was knowledgeable about all things Estonia! She took us to beautiful scenic views along the Baltic Sea, the lovely old manor houses, the monastic ruins and many other must-sees. The hike in Keila Vald along the waterfalls was a lovely break from the drive; Laura included a brief history lesson. She also included a few local offbeat places like an old Russian bunker and cargo plane, now used as a meeting place for the local teen flying club. With Laura’s expertise and great driving, it was a very enjoyable day well-spent!
Our guide was Hindrek and he was tremendous. He was highly informed about each area we visited, he had detailed answers to all of our questions, and he worked hard to make sure that we enjoyed our trip. He took the time to explain the region to us and he was never in a rush. The trip lasted longer than planned because he let us enjoy each site visit as long as we wished.
Andreas picked us up from our accommodations in Tallinn. We drove NW and visited a beach, coastal cliffs, a waterfall, a lighthouse, an abandoned prison, an abandoned monastery, and viewed a number of manor houses. And finally we visited an old Soviet cargo ship sitting in a field! Andreas provided much historical information and answered our questions, including a request to explain the political environment. Very enjoyable tour.
We were honored to have Liine as a tour guide for a short time in Tallinn. She was an absolute delight and we enjoyed spending time with her. She was extremely knowledgeable of Tallinn and the highlights of the city. Her wit and charm was infectious. I would highly recommend anyone going to Tallinn to sign up with Liine and use www.traveller.ee to book a tour. The entire staff has been supportive and attentive to our request. Our responses were quickly answered and addressed. To be honest, 5 stars is not enough to give Liine and Traveller.ee - they deserve 10 stars. Thank you for making our experience in Tallinn a special memory.
Being from the USA I was skeptical of communicating with a company with an email ending in .ee. But I was proven so wrong. All my emails were answered clearly and promptly usually within a few hours. I was so impressed and this made me comfortable to book the tour. Upon arrival at the cruise port we were immediately greeted by Andres our guide. Andres was great!! He took us everywhere we wanted to go and then some. His explanations were clear and his knowledge about the area and its history was expansive. We started off driving to the various places then walked within the city. Although the tour was technically over Andres then drove us back to the ship. Once back on board our ship we compared notes with other passengers and found that we saw and did twice as much as any of them. Wow. Such a great value! I would absolutely recommend Traveller Tours again and again.
Had a really nice tour with Laura. She was very knowledgeable. Also, great sights on the way. Highly recommend this tour.
The Coastal Cliffs tour was probably the most interesting day in my entire Baltics trip! Hindrek was familiar with the whole area and gave us history and information the entire day! He went above and beyond what I imagined. We saw nature (cliffs and waterfalls) and everything history, from WWII to Soviet Union to a monastery to Estonian underground bunkers! Honestly, you haven't really experienced Estonia until you go on this tour and see the history and nature of the countryside. 10/10 Recommend!
This was a very interesting day trip as our guide explained a lot about Estonian history and she gave us plenty of details about all the places we were at. Though the day was rainy we had a lot of fun and I enjoyed my time very much.
By visiting the spots of nature and sowjet relicts with our estonian guide we understand and felt the problems and solutions of this old and young society. Thank you so much
The tour was lovely, and a good chance to explore a different part of the country, than just Tallinn, or the cities. After some uncertainty as to if the tour would go ahead at the time of booking, the small group was a good size. There were 4 of us in the van, so it was easy to hear information, and be able to ask questions. Marju, our guide was wonderful. Very knowledgeable about the country and history. She was warm and engaging, and interested in the stories of the group members as well. Highly recommended.
We chose Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski as we thought our teenage boys would find this the most interesting tour and it would give us all an insight into the history of Estonia. Kristel, our lovely guide, was fantastic! She drove us safely round a wide range of sights and was a mine of information. As expected, our boys found the prison quarry, bunkers, lighthouse, cargo plane and history of Paldiski very interesting. The tour had frequent stops - none of the sections of driving were more than about 20 minutes. Overall, a great day out - and perfect way to avoid the crowds in Tallin on the busiest day for cruise ships in the summer! We arrived back in the town centre late afternoon, just as the tourists were heading off - giving us a lovely quiet evening to explore the old town.
Such a great way to see Tallinn on bike and on foot. Our guide was fantastic. Gracious and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
The trip to the countryside and to the coast really rounded out our visit to Tallinn. Andres was so personable and agreeable. He was willing to discuss anything from the outdoors to government and politics as well as history and current events. This is a great way to get a much better “feel“ for the people and the country of Estonia. As always, I learned much and I erased a little bit more ignorance. I would recommend this tour highly. Also, it was very convenient that we were picked up at our hotel in the morning and dropped off directly at the ferry terminal to travel to Stockholm that afternoon. This was done by scheduling a private tour but, it was very efficient for us.
Really great day tour to some super destinations outside of Tallinn. The rock quarry swimming hole was super photogenic. Great guide, very nice and knowledgeable
Our day with Andres was fantastic. He had a great sense of humor. He loves Tallinn and he made us fall in love too. He gave us such a great history lesson that people from other tours were listening in. We learned about history, culture, current day living....everything we asked he gave a thoughtful and complete explanation, We discovered the New modern Tallinn, the Stalin Era and the old city. We visited the must see tourist spots but also some of Andres favorite hidden gems. The day went so fast and we were sorry to see it end. Andres was one of the best guides we have ever had!!!!
Mia was a wonderful guide. Although she is still very young she is passionate and proud of her city and extremely knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the tour
Maria is a nice and competent guide. We learned a lot and had fun.
Our guide Kert met us at the cruise terminal. The tour was in a comfortable van which was well air-conditioned. Kert first took us to the Old Town where he gave us a lot of information about its history. We then went to Catherine's Palace, followed by the Song Festival Grounds. We concluded the tour with a brief visit to Pirita beach. A pleasant shore excursion which made us fall in love with Tallinn.
The tour was good in some respects, and I’m not sorry we took it, but I have some complaints, and overall it could have been better. We are not fussy, but the condition of the car we rode in was borderline unacceptable. It smelled bad. Our guide was informative and knowledgeable, and did a great job explaining Estonian history and culture, but he didn’t take us along Pikk Street, which is sort of unconscionable. Fortunately I had my guide book with me, and we had time after the tour to return there and see it, but we might have missed it if I hadn’t been paying attention. Two things would have helped. First, if as a tour operator, you know that you are recommended by Rick Steves, then you should be sure to cover all the sights mentioned in his book, unless there is a good reason not to. Second, provide a map and an overview of what we’re going to be doing at the outset. It really helps to get oriented and to have a rough idea of what’s coming next. We did privately-led tours at every stop our cruise ship made, and this was the only one that didn't meet a high standard (especially with respect to the car).
Group of four adults: we had a very interesting tour with Siim, covering history and general life in Estonia. He has a great sense of humour and is open to discuss and answer questions of all nature. Respectful and kind, we recommend to all.
Absolutely fantastic tour! Truly exceeded our expectation. Tour guide, Jüri, was very friendly, knowledgeable and had marvellous sense of humour! We got too see fantastic places and learned a lot about not only the locations but also about Estonia overall. We have already recommended this tour to friends!
An absolutely fantastic experience for all of us. We were taken to so many fascinating places, almost all of which were off the beaten track, and learned so much from our guide Liine. She was able to tell us anything about the sites and her explanations of the historical contexts surrounding them (including from the Tsarist, Nazi, and Soviet periods) were always interesting and helpful. Not to mention how kind and fun she was; it was great spending the day with her! Our lunch at an authentic Estonian cafe was another highlight. The access the tour provided to sites that would be hard to visit otherwise was also much appreciated. We could not recommend this tour enough - it contains the perfect mix of natural beauty and fascinating history. Who knew scenic coastal cliffs and decrepit abandoned military installations could combine so well! Thank you Traveller Tours.
Liiine was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining throughout our private 5+hour driving and walking tour. She also was very relatable, which assisted both my husband and I and our teenage daughters’ understanding of the impact of WWII and the Soviet occupation of Estonia. Of course, the medieval history and following centuries was fully covered as well. Other favorite parts of the tour were visiting the local side of Tallin.
An excellent excursion with lots of interesting and diverse locations. Andres was a great guide.
We had a very knowledgeable guide, Igor, who provided us with useful information about the city and the country. Very good command of the English language and an easy-to-hear clear voice. In hindsight, and after touring the place on our own , we would have liked to spend more time at the lower town and less visiting the outskirts area now being gentrified after housing old factories.
First of all the weather was absolutely beautiful the day of our tour. We met Liine at the cruise port gate. The city is absolutely stunning. This was an exceptional tour highlighting the history of Tallinn and the buildings contributing to that history. I love tours by local people. They are very passionate about their cities. Linne is very knowledgeable when it comes to all the history of Tallinn. We congratulate the people of Tallinn on their Independence. I highly recommend this tour.
Thank you so much Kätlin for making our day! Your kind, intelligent and relaxed way really impressed us :-)
We had a wonderful tour with Siim! He did a great job and really brought Tallinn alive...and he had a wonderful sense of humor! We walked up through the old city and then we rode bikes to the summer palaces and park. It was perfect for the time we had with the cruise ship. They provided an attachment bike for our younger one...it was terrific.
We took this tour in place of our included tour with Viking. Viking tours are usually very good, but we thought this would be really fun. It was! The tour was great. We had a young man who knew a lot about the history and culture of Tallinn. The walking tour covered old town and the bike ride got us through some different parts of the city and then out to the palace and park areas. Really nice and very enjoyable. Highly recommend it.
I was very happy when I got an ansewr I made an email reservation. The guid explained in easy English. As might imagine trekking in the uncontaminated natuer was wonderful. The Old Town was energized by the sight and events. I had a special experience with other destinations.
A fascinating day. A chance to see other parts of Estonia, outside of Tallinn, both the coast and still recent history left by the Russians. Better yet, the chance to spend a day in conversation with a local. We had a great guide who absolutely made the day a treat and provided real insight.
Maria was our guide for a 3-hour walking tour of Old Town (Upper and Lower). Maria was the PERFECT guide! Very engaging, very knowledgeable, and tailored the tour for what we were interested in. We requested Maria based on other reviews and could not have been happier. Our booking and all correspondence with Traveller Tours was via the website and email — they made the process very easy and were a pleasure to work with. We enjoyed our time in Tallinn immensely and hope to return. We definitely recommend Traveller Tours, Maria, and Tallinn. Go and have fun!!
We have been so lucky with the sunny weather but that wasn't all that was great about this tour. Loved the diversity of sites we were visiting - a perfect combination of nature and history! Kert was very knowledgeable and gave us an honest and personal inside into Estonian history and daily life. Thanks again for this great experience, Kert!
Lovely day trip to get out of the city and see more of Estonia. Great guide who was super friendly and very informative.
We were a group of eight and we had a nice day. We weren't to many people and the van was big enough for all of us. Our guide seemed qualified and was really nice. He answered every question we had and shared a lot of information. The view at the prison was breathtaking and totally worth the trip. It was a nice combination for us - cliffs, old sovjet place, a waterfall and an old plane.
We had a wonderful tour of Kalamaja - the former industrial area of Tallinn that is rapidly transforming into hipster centre - and along the coast by bike, followed by a walk through Tallinn's beautiful historic centre. Our guide (Maibel) is a history graduate and was extremely knowledgeable. Her English was faultless and she was extremely flexible in fitting in with our requirements. We booked our tour at very short notice and were extremely impressed with the service offered. Many thanks.
Great day from start to finish. Our your guide Kert was brilliant. Loads of information given about each place visited. This is an alternative insight into Estonia. Some really unexplored places to visit. Quarry visit was fantastic! Going home to Scotland with great memories.
Maria was a fabulous guide to take us to Paldiski. She was highly knowledgeable and was very talkative! She made a special call to visit an old prison (going out of her way). Couldn’t ask for a better person to help us explore the Soviet history of the area :)
We were lucky enough to have Kert as our guide for the day. His history knowledge was incredible and was able to introduce us to a glimpse into Estonian and Tallinn from centuries ago to this day. Kert has a wonderful sense of humour and very well travelled himself - so his tour was much more than an ABC of a place and a drive by and wave of key attractions you might often find with tour companies. Well done Kert and thank you.
It was really cool getting away from Tallinn and seeing another part of Estonia. Paldiski is probably the closest thing I'll ever see to Russia. This is another good tour offered by this company.
It was exciting for us to get out of the city and see a different aspect of Estonia than just the old town of Tallinn. While I love the old town, it was great to have the opportunity to explore an abandoned monastary, underwater prison and Soviet town of Paldiski. Our guide Marju was full of interesting information and tips and more than willing to answer any questions we had. We stopped at a lot of different attractions but didn't feel rushed at all- it was the right combination of activities and drive time. I definitely reccommend this trip for anyone who wants to get out and see a different side of Estonia!
I pass a good day with my husband and 3 other Nice person. The guide is very nice person too and she speak a little french, she pass time with all guests and is pleasant. I recommand this trip.
Awesome tour where you visit to places not well known by tourists... on 02 Dec, we get to visit the awesome coastal cliffs, the beautiful park with waterfall, the old monastery fort and an abandoned prison quarry... totally awesome! Our guide Mariilou (not sure the spelling) is very helpful and knowledgeable with the locations we visited and it was a nice tour.
We booked pretty last minute to go on the Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski Tour and Traveller Tours sorted it all out for us really quickly and the tour couldn't have been better! We were picked up in the morning by Kert who was awesome! He knew all the answers to our barrage of questions and did it all with a smile on his face and many laughs along the way. The trip certainly packed in lots of interesting things to see over the course of the day including soviet bunkers and buildings, a monastery, waterfalls and probably our favourites .... Rummu prison and quarry as well as the soviet cargo plane. This trip was one of the highlights of our time Estonia and well worth checking out.
My husband and I did the private Best of Tallinn 4hr Bike and Walking Tour with Maibel. We walked (20-30mins) from our ship to the meeting point (right behind the Tourist Info Center) and had a great time with Maibel covering all the highlights, and lots of parks, too. She studied history in London: has excellent English and so much knowledge. Isabel was great answering all my emails and let me pre pay the amount on my credit card. I might add- I thought the price was a great bargain for 4hrs, by ourselves, with such a professional guide. I'd definitely recommend this company and certainly any tour with Maibel.
I took the Haapsalu and West Coast Tour a few days ago and have only words of gratitude toward this company and especially to Marju who was very friendly and professional. She took the time to show and explain us about anything from history to biology. She patiently answered all of our questions and took us to this great caffé in Haapsalu, so we could try the simple but tasteful Estonian country cusine. Totally recommendable if your interested in history, politics, architecture and bird-watching or simply walking along the seaside. Tänan, Marju!
I don't recall how my daughter found Traveller Tours when we were planning a trip to Estonia; but I'm glad she did. By us, small-group tours with local guides win hands-down over both large, cookie-cutter "highlight" tours done in lockstep with others, and the DIY approach with its inevitable false starts, lost time, and missed possibilities. We did two TT tours while in Estonia: one to Viljandi and the university town of Tartu, the other to the resort area around Haapsalu. Our respective guides, Kert and Marju, were graduate students fluent in English with an excellent grasp of both Estonian and European history and a good handle on the particulars of each site we visited. On the Viljandi/Tartu trip, we three had Kert to ourselves. So it effectively was a private tour at a group-tour price. On the Haapsalu trip, we had a congenial group of eight plus Marju. In both cases, we had plenty of time to talk and ask questions along the way; and we learned a great deal. Should we have a second opportunity to visit Estonia, we would happily go on more Traveller Tours. Thanks, Kert and Marju and colleagues, for doing such a great job!
Our guide was Kaitlin (sorry if I dont spell it correctly) and she was very friendly and knew a lot about the places we visited and the history of Estonia. 7 hours actually went fast and I think it was good that the tour had a mixture of beautiful nature and other more historic places. One big plus was when me and my family looked in an old photoalbum at the taverna in Paldiski, and we found our grandmothers old home at a picture :)
This was a 7 hour trip with plenty of stops. Good to see different parts of Estonia. The waterfall was beautiful. The roads were so quiet. The Russian aspect is such recent history. We also had lunch in an old Tavern in Russian Paldiski - dumplings! Our tour guide Kert made the trip very enjoyable and we got to know quite a bit about Estonian life. Well worth the money, a good day out.
We had an excellent adventure with Niels in Tallinn. Our guide was very knowledgeable - his deep knowledge of the city and Estonia allowed him to present a mix of history and information about current life in Tallinn. Highly recommended!
We were traveling by cruise ship with our 2 teens (ages 14 & 19) and booked the 5 hour car and walking tour. Our guide Chris not only did a great job of showing us the city, but had a sense of humor that kept us laughing throughout the tour. We ended our day with an excellent lunch that he had pre-booked ahead of time. Getting to know a local while seeing the highlights of this beautiful city made our short time in Tallinn special. We all left wishing we could see more.
I did a tour with Nils. Nils loves his city and was very knowledgeable. He had a fantastic sense of humour and kept me entertained. He was very thorough and respectable. I had only a few hours to spend and Nils helped me make the most of it. I would recommend him and would like to have him again when I return for a longer stay
We had a lot of fun with our guide Maria. Maria is the perfect guide, she knows a lot about Tallinn and can even tell some funny stories. We can recommend a guided tour through Tallinn with her! Thanks again! 😊
We took the day tour to the western cliffs and Paldiski and it was phenomenal. Our tour guide, Martin, seems to know everything about Estonian history (literally) and answered all of our questions beautifully. (Coincidentally, Martin was also our guide on the Tallinn Old Town free walking tour, where he also displayed incredible depth of knowledge.) The sights on the tour itself were spectacular. This tour was actually our second choice, but we were not disappointed. The views from the western cliffs were breathtaking. The tour also included stops to a number of relics from the Soviet era, including an old forced labor camp, and to see a Soviet fighter plane. I would highly recomend this tour-the perfect combination of nature and history to some places off the beaten path.
We visit Tallinn every year in February and booked a private tour to Haapsalu (our flights were on dates of regular tour) and it really was an excellent day out, well worth the extra cost. Kert, our guide, was great - we chatted about all sorts of aspects of Estonian life, and he was so knowledgable about the interesting places we visited - and got as excited as we did when we drove across the ice-road on the Baltic!! Communication before our trip was excellent and we were so pleased we did it. Definitely will be booking another tour to another part of this beautiful and fascinating country when we come back next year. Thank you so much for a great day out.
Estonia is a wonderful country with amazing nature, sightseeings and interesting history. I love it and want to come back! Kert is an awesome guide with a lot of knowledge of history, able to answer every question and the tour with him is an adventure full of laughter, fun, stories and very friendly atmosphere. Kert is a safe driver, speaks excellent English and always cares about participants´ needs and wishes.. the best guy to explore beautiful Eestimaa with :) Thank you very much !!!
Today was my best Tour around Tallinn. Heli is very smart and very funny, energetic and informative with awesome taste of humour.
We had Heli on our tour and she made it hands down the best free walking tour we have done -and we have done a fair few over the years (because the price is right :) ) Her knowledge of the city and its history is top notch and her delivery is right on with humour and information. You will be in good hands if Heli is taking your group.
We did two tours - first one to Lahemaa National Park. Firstly I must say that our tour guide - Jaan (aka. John) was amazing - really smart and friendly guy who knew a lot about the history of Estonia and all the places that we visited with him. He was so genuine and it was so pleasant to listen or talk to him because he really was interested in sharing the information with us. Also, he was super-funny! :) The tour itself was very informative and fun. All the places that we visited were really interesting and cool, especially the submarine base and the bog. :) Would definitely recommend it to everybody! The second tour was to western coast and town called Haapsalu. This time we had an awesome tour guide again - Kert. He was also very knowledgeable and happy to share it with us. Unfortunately it was quite rainy that day, so it was not the best time to visit the coast and seaside, but we did enjoy it quite a bit. Just driving around on the tiny forest roads in the middle of nowhere was already pretty cool. Luckily the rain stopped in Haapsalu, so we got to see the town and promenade. Kert also took us for lunch in a very authentic and rustic estonian restaurant which was great! All in all - both of the trips were really cool, thank you! :)
The tour was organised wellvright from the start, easy pick up point and we left on time.Anneli organised the bookings and ourvguide KKatie was fantastic! Throughout the day she toldcus about relevant Estonian culture, history and geography. The tourcwax a good mix of walking and driving. We had several stops during the day. It wasvery relaxing walking along the promenade in Haapsalu and visiting the fortifications and old train station. We stopped for lunch at a quaint cafe and also had time forcsome shopping. On the way back to Tallinn we stopped at an abandoned Soviet airfield, a quirt place on the coast and a little village. Katie made the experiences very special. I lesrnt so much that day . Thanks
While in Tallinn, we took the Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski tour, we had a wonderful day with Olga, our guide who could not have been more helpful. Her knowledge of the area was amazing and made the place come to life. We had a great lunch at a local restaurant! Olga was great, we need her right now in St Petersburg. Take the trip you will enjoy it!
Had a glorious few hours with Ariel. Spending time with her made the whole experience of Tallinn 100% more enjoyable. We were lucky to have her to guide us and that we did in sunshine. All the best The Connor family from South London
Best tour guide ever!!! Well done Heli
Our family of 6 wanted a tour where we could walk the old city and also see other sights like the summer palace. In addition, we had special dietary needs. John (getting his Master's in History) was such an amazing host. He met us off the ship and both drove and walked us around. He brought us to a great restaurant for a gluten free lunch. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Don't hesitate to book your cruise shore tour with them. Much better than what is offered on the ship.
Also went on the Coastal Cliffs tour with Teele, and I'm in complete agreement with earlier reviews. She is delightful, and the tour is a wonderful way to spend a day here.
A huge "Thank You" to Ariel for her 3 hour walking tour through Tallinn! The history and insight into the city and culture were awesome!
I just got back from an awesome day. Making the cliffs tour. Very various places to see and much fun. Maarja made that Day perfect, From her really enthusiastic attitude to the fact that we did the all trip and more even if Take more times! This tour really deserved its reputation.
Teele was our guide for the Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski last Tuesday (5 July 2016) & I must say it was one of the most relaxing tours I've been on. Not only she's a safe driver but also offered tons of interesting information and always made sure we were ok and comfortable. As another reviewer said, the highlight of this tour was the Rummu prison and the quarry and also we got to sit inside an abandoned Soviet cargo plane!
Ariel was a great and witty guide on the 3 H walking tour of Tallinn. She was extremely informative and made the trip a joyous experience to be a part of. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to discover rich heritage and history in this beautiful city.
Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski, I did the tour on Sunday the 29th of May, our guide was 'Relika' (phonetically spelled). She was very knowledgeable, and could answer all my questions about the Paldiski area and Estonian history in general. Lovely and polite person too. Highlight for me was Murru prison quarry, very surreal landscape. Thanks!
Just came back from the Tour with Maarja to Paldiski. Has been very interesting and we really enjoyed the 7 hours with this Wonderful Guide - thank you Maarja!! As we have to fly back tomorrow to Austria this was the Perfect last day and I can only recommend it!
Took the walking tour with Heli straight from our cruise ship... what a highlight of the cruise ! Heli is outstanding, funny and witty. Highly recommended.
Traveller Tours and Lline, our guide, were incredible. Booking was easy and convenient (all via email). We picked the Lahemaa National Park tour and Lline allowed us to make some modifications based on our interests. The national park was beautiful and my children loved the break from museums and historical sites. As we traveled through the the forest and bogs, Lline did a magnificent job telling us stories of Estonia, it's myths and legends; she pointed out flowers, moss etc. used in traditional medicine. It was absolutely wonderful! We then went to visit an abandoned soviet submarine demagnetization base. Lline's descriptive narrative made the base come alive - it was eerie yet fascinating. Our next stop was lunch at a great local restaurant near the Old Town, free from the mass of tourists. We then went on a walking tour of the Old Town. Lline pointed out interesting things in the city that we would have missed had we gone on a self guided tour. We ended our day knowing more about Estonia, appreciating its history and culture and yearning to return for more. Of all the tours we took on our Baltic cruise, this was by far, our favorite. Tip: Estonia has the highest quality handmade items and the prices are very reasonable. This is the place to buy unique gifts.
Funky Bike Tour is highly recommended for all who want to see beyond the evident beauty of the old town and to understand how Talinn has grown through its more recent history under Russian rule. Katrin our guide was warm, enthusiastic and very well informed. Her excellent English made communication easy as she introduced more personal stories to explain how Estonians lived and worked. We especially enjoyed seeing the old Russian railway station, the prison and its chilling history, the disused Volta factory and a quirky little cafe by the sea. The emerging Public Art blended well with many of these industrial buildings.
Martin met us as scheduled for our 5-hour Tallinn tour. His English is EXCELLENT, with an amazing grasp of American colloquialisms and slang, which he says he picked up from watching TV and movies. His knowledge of the history and politics of the area was extensive, and he was able to explain it in terms easily understood by non-history buffs. Hands down, our group of 4 voted Tallinn the best of our five city/country stops, primarily due to Martin's skills and knowledge, the beautiful surroundings and (of course) the fabulous weather.
Our family of four had a wonderful 5 hour car and walking tour with Katlin. We were met just outside the cruise gates and then proceeded to do a narrated walking tour of the old town. Next we drove in a brand new vehicle to see other areas just outside of town. Katlin was very knowledgeable and gave us great insight into Estonia and its people.
Kaitlin gave us a wonderful 7 hour tour which was very informative and enjoyable. She is a wonderful guide.
We really enjoyed the 7 hour tour with Katherine. She provided a very informative and interesting tour with a lot of history about Estonia and Tallinn. Cleveland, Ohio, USA
My husband and I did the 3 hr private walking tour with Maria in May, 2016, and we were so pleased that we had made that choice instead of one of our ship's crowded, and more expensive, group excursions. Maria was so knowledgeable about the history of her country. She spoke excellent English and was able to answer all our questions. She was waiting for us right outside cruise dock gates with a sign with our name on it. Our tour felt more like a visit with a friend and we were sorry when it was time to say goodbye. The 3 hour guided tour was just right for us, as we still had plenty of time to poke around the market and shops after. Excellent tour and excellent value!!
We had a small group of cyclists from Helsinki and we enjoyed a lot of biking tour with Liine. Liine could tell about the history of Estonia very lively. It really was the best guided tour I've ever been.
My friend and I decided for the Coastal Cliffs + Paldiski tour. We were only 4 people on the tour and it seems like that we are a family. Our tour guide Triin was amazing her knowledge brilliant and her sense of humour was unbeatable. We learned a lot about the history of Estonia. She knew all the answers to all the questions and we would like to travel with her again on our next trip to Tallinn. Thanks a lot Triin and we highly recommend you and your travel agency.
Usually I am not a friend of guided Tours. But in this case, we decided to make one, because we were short on time. So we booked Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski. Because there were no other interested people we get a private Tour. And this Tour was so fantastic that we made the Lahemaa and Haapsalu Tour too. I recommend you, to spend at least one Day of your Holidays outside the town and make one of these trips. If you have only one Day make the Lahemaa Tour. The girls we had as guides are altogether brilliant, so it makes no difference which one guides you. Thank´s you showed us your wonderful homeland.
We enjoyed a tour to Coastal Cliffs & Paldiski with Liine. It was grasping, we had a nice company with our tourmates, and our guide was very lively and smart. It seems that Liine knows everything about history and Estonia! We recommend this tour for anyone who wants to spend an interesting day in the outdoors!
In August 2015, we (4 adults) used Tallinn Traveller Tours to organize appx. 7 hr tour of Tallinn with Katlin. We had an excellent time! Tallinn Traveller Tours took the time to organize a private trip and answer countless of emails and questions. The company was able to organize a fantastic tour, according to what we wanted to see and learn about. Katlin was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and full of energy! Although our tour had officially ended, she still took us to one more place (the Song Festival Grounds) because she felt it was important for us to see this historical place. We were so grateful for this! Our tour included a van, which was new and clean. There were water bottles waiting for us in the van. During the tour, we decided not to go to one of the planned museums. The company refunded the money right away without any hassles and without us having to remind them. Overall, Tallinn Traveller Tours is a very professional tour company with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski - tänan Kätlin
We visited Tallinn in August 2015 and booked a four hour walking & bike tour. Our guide, Mart, was fabulous. He was extremely knowledgeable and provided a commentary that was full of historical facts and amusing anecdotes about a country and city that he loves passionately. Once on the bike, he took us to places that only a few get to see and, for that, we are very grateful. An excellent tour and a fantastic guide. You will be well rewarded by booking this tour.
Our group of four arranged for a private tour. Our guide, Liine, a young university student with excellent English and command of idioms, was full of meaningful details and comments. We were interested in Tallinn during the Soviet period. Liine had much to say including an impressive command of history from the Teutonic Knights til the recent independence. Thank you, Liine, for making our trip to Tallinn so exceptional. Cost: 4 persons, 3 hrs., 100 Euros.
We had less than a day to spend in Tallinn. So decided to take a short walking tour of the city. Our guide named Liine was very informative, funny and efficient. She took us around the main parts of the city with small stops in between, to tell us the history of the city. It was really enjoyable. I will recommend this tour to anyone taking a short trip to Estonia.
We booked the 3h Old Town tour with Tatjana on Aug 2, 2015. I must say that Tatjana is an awesome tour guide. She demonstrated deep knowledge of Tallinn history, with a lot of personal touch, which made it feel like the stories come from someone who really lives the history. After taking the tour with Tatjana, Tallinn definitely occupies a very special spot in my heart, and I hope to visit it again one day.
I pre-booked and paid in full by email prior to ship (Royal Caribbean) arrival. I was told driver/guide will meet at pier at 09:00. Yes, the guide was there exactly in nice clean van ready to go. I pre-explained one passenger was 80 and could not walk a lot. The driver took care of our entire party the whole day. I highly recommend this company and tour. Tour included stop for lunch, in which we paid for the guide's meal. Very good tour.
Although there has been a booking problem with my Lahemaa tour they gave me the possibility to enjoy a fantastic costal tour with Martin instead. Many thanks to the team! It has been a great experience in Estonia which I'll never forget. If somebody reading this review has the time to go on the tour I would highly recommend it!
The Costal Coat and Paldisky Tour we made last saturday was the most amazing and awesome of our estonian's stay. The guide, Kris, was perfect: So available, funny and always here to give many details and special jokes. We enjoyed it ALL the time
Today we participated in the trip to the Costal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski. It was an amazing trip, and Kris was a fantastic tour guide. With his passion and expertise, he made this trip an unforgattable experience. I found this tour highly entertaining and educational, therefore I enjoyed my time during this guided tour. Thanks a lot for that spectacular day!
We did the 4h bike/walking tour with Virve in July 2015 and we had lots of fun discovering the beautiful city of Tallinn with her. She is a fantastic tourguide with lots of energy and knows many interesting storys of her country. We can warmly recommend her, our best tourguide ever!!!
Olga was a great guide and took us to some fantastic places which we would never have found ourselves.
it was amazing day with our great guide olga at coastal clifs and another nice day with Kris in lahema national park thanks for 2 beautiful days in estonia
We were in Tallinn for one day and did a 4 hour bike/walking tour with Catherine. The tour was the perfect length and blended history with other interesting anecdotes and facts. Thank you Catherine for a great tour!!
We had a fantastic day on this tour! We were amazed to find just the two of us on this tour with our guide George and his friend and fellow tour guide Martin who was learning the tour. On a warm sunny July day we visited an ancient monestry, an old prison, picked and ate wild blueberries in the forest, visited a rocky beach and watched yachts sail by, had a leisurely lunch in lovely Haapsalu (could have stayed there all afternoon:-)) and then en route back to Tallinn visited a deserted airbase and 3 old German manor houses in various states of ruin. George spoke perfect English, was extremely knowledgeable, patient answering our many questions, has a great sense of humour and is really easy company to be with. I can highly recommend doing the western coast tour, it is well worth the time to see a more of Estonia.
Walking tour of Tallinn - I booked a private 4 hour walking tour as we wanted to see the Russian Prison as well as Old Town. Our guide tried to take a short cut only to find the gate was locked. She started to go around the block then realized we were going the wrong way. When we got close to the prison, construction from a new apartment complex prevented us from going the way she had hoped so we had to go around another couple of blocks. In all we lost about 45 minutes due to detours. We enjoyed Old Town and the places she took us to which had great views of the city. We just thought she could have been better prepared in the beginning.
Can't say enough about our wonderful three hour Tallinn tour with Henri. He is such a good story teller and he is a great communicator. We loved walking with him and he was so interesting and able to answer all of our questions. He was very accommodating when we needed a tea break and he always managed to maneuver well around the crowds. He gave us advice on how to return to ferry, where to eat lunch, and where to shop. Tallinn would not have been nearly as interesting or fun without our wonderful tour.
We took the Best of Tallinn 3 hour walking tour with Henri today and had a great time walking around the winding streets of the city! Our tour was the perfect mix of history and casual conversation about Estonian culture. It was a fun way to spend our afternoon and a great introduction to Tallinn-we give it 5 out of 5 stars :)
It was pouring rain in the morning so I was kinda questioning my decision to take a trip to Haapsalu that day. But fortunately, we ended up having great weather and chased the sun! As we weren't able to see everything from our planned tour due to a drag race happening at the air base, our guide Geron took us to some cool places that you normally see on a different tour. You could say that we got the best of both! I'd recommend doing any of these tours if you want to see more of Estonia than just Tallinn. And if you get Geron as your guide: lucky you, enjoy his great sense of humor!
Had an enjoyable day with Katrin - great local knowledge and very helpful. One of the better walking tours we've been on.
I can recommend 2 book this tour!!! Our guides were very friendly and knew a lot of the city, it's history and culture. We had so much fun and learned a lot. The old city is lovely and driving further out the old town with bicycles was a great experience !!!
Our group of three couples from Texas had an awesome day in Tallinn with Olga last week. We all agree that she is the best tour guide we have ever had. She is very knowledgeable, professional, loves Tallinn, and has a sweet personality. We learned a lot about this great city in the one day we were there. Our group travels a lot together and do these personal tours often. We always have great fun and she just added so much to it. Our sense of humor just clicked with hers. We felt like she was our daughter early into the tour. Thanks, Olga!
Absolutely awesome tour of the Old Town in Tallin. Our guide's, Jüri's, enthusiasm and joy were contagious. You could see he really enjoys what he is doing and is great at it: great historical knowledge and a wonderful sense of humour, open to chat and provide additional information, very friendly. The tour practically flew by - when I looked at my watch I couldn't believe how late it is, since the trip was so engaging. I can definitely recommend touring with Jüri, he will make you fall in love with Tallin.
Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the guide I went on this tour last year. We were a group of 4 incl the guide. He did so much driving and still had enough energy to tell us so much about this area. He knew so many hidden places, it was like a little explorer tour! Love it! Thank you!
I took the Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski tour with my family this week and was frankly disappointed. We were accompanied by 2 other tour guides who had come along to learn. They took the best seats in the bus while we were stuck in the back. At lunchtime, the 3 guides sat with 2 customers - who could ask all the questions they wanted, while we were left alone. On the bus, it was difficult to know when the chatting between the 3 guides had stopped and the information had started, particularly as the radio was on most of the time. Just a thought, but if you had a guide who had lived through some of the Soviet era, they could have provided a lot more insight.
We did the Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski tour with our guide Iida-Leena. We've spent the last six weeks touring various Baltic States and this was by far our best tour. Lida-Leena was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and really gave us a feel for what makes Estonia and Estonians tick. Our rating - Brilliant!
I did Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski tour with great tour guide Kristiina. I enjoyed the trip a lot - I always like to have another look at the city and its surroundings so the trip was just perfect for me. Many places I've never thought they existed, great atmosphere, nice stories. You can see some photos from the tour on my blog also - http://gorgeousplanet.blogspot.com/2014/08/estonia-wycieczka-z-tallinn-traveler.html Thanks! It was a nice day ;)
Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski Tour was spectacular, so glad I went! Highly recommended. Our guide Iida-Leena was fantastic.
I arranged a Best of Tallinn car and walking tour for our group of 8 cruising in June 2014. Iida was our guide and was so engaging and informative that we all enjoyed the day immensely. Her English is excellent and she shared her knowledge of the history and local life in a way that made us all want to know more. She was unfailingly gracious and patient in answering our questions and took us to a wonderful lunch spot out of the touristy area. Everyone complimented me on finding such a great tour! Thanks Iida and Tallinn Traveller for making Tallinn a highlight of our trip.
We booked a private walking and bike tour for the four of us. Our guide was Indrik who was very knowledgeable and showed us the sites of beautiful Tallinn. It was one of the highlights of our Baltic cruise. The first part was a walking tour through the old town. It was early so the streets were nice and quiet. We enjoyed our coffee break in a nice cafe before our bike tour. Thanks Indrik for an enjoyable glimpse of your beautiful city.
Our visit to Tallinn was a highlight of our 2 week vacation. Our guide, Linna, was fantastic...one of the best we have had among many tours in Europe. She was friendly and engaging. Our kids loved all of her stories....especially the ghost stories! Our group encompassed 3 generations...from 9 years old to 77 and everyone had a great time! We liked this tour in particular with both the biking and walking components.
My family and I, five of us, scheduled a private tour since we came on a cruise and were trying to avoid the mob scene. George, our guide was fantastic, he had tons of energy and you could tell how much he loved relaying the history of Tallinn and Estonia in general. Our private tour was about 2 1/2 hours, George showed us a little extra after we were enjoying ourselves so much. Over by the university we were fortunate enough to see some of the exhibits being put together for the Lillie fair if I can remember correctly. Tallinn is a beautiful little town surrounded by medieval walls with a couple gorgeous churches and quaint side streets. I cannot say enough how surprised and how much we will cherish our tour with George.
Myself and two grown-up daughters did the Paldiski tour with Mart during our too-short 1 week trip to Tallinn. What a great day out that was. Full of surprises (I won't spoil them). There was only one other couple in the group (Tony & Susan, if you read this ...thanks for being such great company). It felt more like a day out with friends than an organised tour. Mart was more than happy to be flexible on the itinerary as we worked around the changable weather and enjoyed a little side-trip searching unsuccessfully for a mythical soviet bunker :). Mart's a funny, smart guy and really made the day. If you meet him ask him to do his hilarious impersonation of an annoyed Estonian waitress. Priceless.
Last year I did the Lahemaa national park tour and also the Old town free tour. It was great and very informative. This time I decided for the Paldiski tour. Our guide Karin was excellent and we had a super wonderful day! I can highly recommend Tallin Traveller tours! I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
I joined the awesome walking tour with Heli. Thanks for all these interesting stories and silly jokes!
Yesterday I came across a Tallinn travellers Tours flyer. I forgot to write a good review of the Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski I did 2 years ago..... . Very very good tour and excellent guide (johanna maybe?) everything accurately explained.
Heli was our guide around Tallinn on 23 Nov. What a fantastic and enthusiastic guide. She made the Old Town come alive and her delivery and knowledge was impeccable. Thanks Heli!
Did the free walking tour today. I thoroughly enjoyed this and found it very informative and our guide charming. Her name is Hellii (?) and she was challenged by 3 people in the group when she told us that Tallinn was bombed by the Russians in 1944 - 300 planes she said and it destroyed a large part of the city. Her challengers said that Russia didn't have an air force so it can't be. I just googled - Wikepedia confirmed exactly what she said. So, there you go - the tour comes with a highly recommended from me.
We had a fantastic time in Tallinn last month thanks to Aurelia and Tallinn Traveller Tours. Aurelia was such an incredible, amazing and knowledgable guide! She was so very enthusiastic about showing us around this historic city and her English was great. We would happily recommend Aurelia and Tallinn Traveller Tours to anybody.
I went on the Haapsalu tour which was great because you see the things in Estonia you otherwise not would see. I actually use this review to give some ideas because you haven´t give this tour so much. The second visit is a old monastery which you also visit in the paldiski tour, maybe a visit to another place is better so you see completely different things. The other is I didn´t found the visit of the little harbor, for me it didn´t add something extra. Although these points I will recommend the tour because you see lots of things and the stories behind the sightseeings are interesting. The last point is that this tour is often cancelled maybe its an idea to do this tour on another day to see of there are more people who book this tour or to do the day on 2 days so people have more possibilities to do these tours, although I don´t know of you already looked to these options.
Seven of us booked a second trip with our guide Kaido. Very good day trip. Our guide drove us around the whole day and answered all our questions. Kaido has a vast knowledge and told us everything we wanted to know about Estonia. Kaido was a really fun guy and all of us had a great day out. We couldn't have done the trip ourselves. Thank you Samir and the gang from London.
Kaido did a very good job with interesting information about the history of the people of Estonia. The girls in the information center were very friendly and helpful.
What an amazing company, with amazing tour guides! I was lucky enough to experience a personal tour, during the winter season with three guides, as they were creating a new tour to bring in for the summer season. Spent the day exploring several hidden spots of Estonia. Highlights included the Padise monastery, Haapsalu & Ungru Castle. Each guide was full of interesting information about each place we visited and definitely have a real love for Estonia. I couldn't have asked for a better experience as a lone traveller. Thanks guys!!
MAIRI was wonderful guide for my group of 35 persons. Her commentary was an excellent balance of historical facts., humorous anecdotes and mysterious folktales. Mairi has a strong melifulous voice but what I particularly enjoyed was how she mixed a sense of humour with an edge of personal cynicism. I think she could well expand her career as professional guide to, with a little work on the script, and become a celebrity standup comedian.
First of all because we did not expect such a wonderful city and furthermore because we never had such a great guide before. Heli: We absolutely thank you for the best tour ever and a great time in a great city! We highly recommend this tour to everybody visiting Talinn and surely will come back to see some more and sing and dance along with the Estonians!
We arranged this excursion on the Internet as an 'off ship' excursion on 14 May 2013. It was excellent on every level, highly professional, personal attention from a very pleasant young man with stacks of knowledge. We would highly recommend this company to anyone and will not hesitate to book with them again particularly as it represents very good value for money apart from anything else.
We had a awesome day with Tarmo, our Tour Guide. We even shot some Videos which can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFpG9ab9ki0 At the end of the tour a little firework will await you ;-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A956BkHj-B8 This tour is a must for every Estonia Visitor. See you next time.
Went on 29th december 2012 with my niece. Enjoyed every minute of the tour: it gets more and more adventurous as you keep seeing absolutely stunning landscapes. Excellent guide, plenty of explanations given and not banal or standard touristy info.
First, we did the Laheema Tour and enjoyed it so much, that we decided spontaneously to book a second trip to the West Coast. We had different tour guides (Kaur to the West Coast and Cody to Laheema) which we both felt, were absolutely enthusiastic about their jobs and, we spent two great days in beautiful Estonian nature with them and we received first hand impressions of the "story behind the scenery" - in every respect and as much as we could bear in just a few hours.... Thanks a lot you guys - your performance is excellent and far beyond the tourist standard !! Edeltrud & MIchael, Germany
I did a walking and a bike tour through Tallinn and I really loved it. The guides had so many stories to tell. Thank you a lot.
Sorry its taken so long to write the review but things got back to normal very soon after we got back to England (Rush Rush) . This was our first visit to Estonia and to the wonderful capital ciy of Tallin. My wife(Rosie)and myself (Rob) were lucky enough to have what we considered to be a private tour as we were the only two people taking part with our very knowledgable tour guide (Kalev). who spoke in very good English, Our tour was on a cold cloudy day on November12th 2011 just after the football match against Ireland(sorry Kalev)and were taken by car for the full 7 hours around the Western Coast and Paldiski. Our guide kept us very well informed of the history and pointed out spots you would not normally see on any other tour.I think he was quite embarassed when we got to the lagoon/prison only to find the gates were shut and locked the only disapointment to a fantastic well planned tour. We will both recomend the tour to friends who might be going to Tallin in the future. Wondered if you still had the photographs you took of us to send on e-mail to show our friends of our day out. We gave you e-mail address on the day.. Many thanks again keep up the good work Rob& Rosie Hertfordshiere England
This was my 8th visit to Tallinn and although I don’t usually go on organised trips we came across Tallinn Traveller Info by chance and signed up for the Paldiski tour. What a great day we had and our tour guide Kalev, I have to say, went the extra mile to make our experience a more personal and memorable one. I’m planning my next visit Tallinn in the spring of 2012 and hope to go on the Lahemaa National Park trip.
This was a great tour and Kalev, our tour guide was a hero. He answered any questions we had, and was very friendly. He really cared about our experience and did everything in his power to make it happen. He also took photos of the whole tour and e-mailed them to us afterwards at no extra charge. I don't usually leave reviews, but I couldn't help but share my great experience on this tour with this company. We went on the western coast and paldiski tour.
We made an amazing daytrip to the Western coast. Kalev, our guide (and owner of the company), drove us around the whole day. He was willing to answer all our (stupid) questions and told us everything we wanted to know about Estonia en the sights we were visiting. Kalev was a really fun guy to go with and he made our daytrip a very relaxing day out!
All our tour guides are young educated locals so the tours feel more like discovering with a local friend.
With us you'll explore the highlights, but also experience authentic less-discovered destinations.
We want everyone to get personal attention from the guide so we aim to keep our groups rather small.
