" worthwhile historical and scenic tour"
Wonderful guide extremely competent ( a history professor!), and a tour bringing some nice touristic sights, but most of its interest comes from the way it makes you understand the reality of Estonia. today, between Baltic states common history and Russian influence
"Awesome day"
Our guide, Katlin, was super knowledgeable and funny, I had a very pleasant day with her and the group. The tour was also well structured and you get to see lots of beautiful places! Highly recommended!
"An interesting day in Estonia"
Nice landscapes and some post-Soviet abandoned places. The guide tells about the history of Estonia in an interesting way. A good option for people who want to see a piece of Estonia without renting a car.
Thanks to Kätlin for the great day!
"BEST DAY TOUR"
It was really nice. My guide was so kind. She care about people and let us know lot of historical things. It is good to understand about Estonia. The important thing is the landscape was so beautiful. All the places are nice.
"Urban exploring, castles and shale bings"
Katlin is a proper history teacher who kept us engaged and enthused as we struck east past storks and an elk (yes! -not guaranteed every day). From Narva we looked at Russia, Lenin, twin forts and the huge Krenholm cotton mill. Mining town Kohtla-Jarve, with garden city origins, shale bings and an Armenian restaurant (try the Georgian green lemonade, looks like absinthe), the model soviet Sullimae, which had some nefarious cold war purpose, and a not-entirely-abandoned mining village (some valiant residents still holding out with neat gardens against adjacent abandonment). Tolse Teutonic castle on the seashore and an interesting (yes) cement works started the day's visits. Be prepared for a long and stimulating day rich in recent and ancient memories. Thank you!
"Very informative"
I really wanted to learn about the Soviet occupation and see cities in the interiors of Estonia. It was a fantastic and informative tour. Our tour guide Kat was really good. Gave us ample information about the medieval history of Estonia and later on about the soviet occupation. We visited cities on the border town. Saw old abandoned castles/forts and some refurbished ones. This tour is not everyones cup of tea but if you are interested, I’d highly recommend it.
"Magnificent !"
We spent a magnificent day at the park. The guide was very nice, informative and gave us ample time to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature. Definitely would use these tours again.
"Dead Lenin in a Derelict Brewery Garden"
Taking the slow route through Estonia and Latvia is definitely the best option. Our guide, Katlin, was knowledgeable, helpful and charming and she was able to give us a good history of both countries. It is also interesting to travel with a previously unknown group of mixed nationalities.
The stops were well chosen and varied.
If one were to offer a slight criticism, the minibus, although very modern and sleek, was a little small for the number of people on board.
All in all, this was an excellent trip that we would recommend highly to others. We are now interested in investigating Traveller Tours to other destinations.
"Good experience and wonderful places!"
A nice option to reach Tallinn from Riga seeing beautiful places around Latvia and Estonia. Curious stories and a adventurous travel with people of different countries. Thank you!
"Great tour guide "
My partner and I were sick of flying between cities on our trip to the Baltics so we decided to try this tour. I was worried I'd be stuck in a boring car all day wishing I had flown but I was pleasantly surprised :) The tour is a full day but the distance between stops is really well thought out and you don't feel like you have ever been stuck in the car too long. All stops were interesting and it was nice to see some of the countryside. There was a toilet at every stop and the longest time spent in the car was 2 hours at the end coming into Tallin. Our guide Katlin was awesome! A really lovely young lady who had an amazing knowledge of the history of the area, every question we asked her she was more than happy to answer honestly and she really knew her stuff. She gave great recommendations on places to eat in Tallinn and was super laid back. While the rest of the group slept in the back of the van she chatted with us up the front and made the trip very enjoyable. I can highly recommended her and the trip from Riga to Tallin. Thanks Katlin
"Road to Riga"
An absolute must if you choose to travel between Tallinn and Riga. Our guide, the lovely Catlin, was so knowledgeable on the history of the Baltics and we were informed, and entertaining, along the way.
Don’t be put off by the thought of 12 hours in a mini bus. We were on the road for about 5 hours as the trip was broken up with stops at towns (look out for strawberries), a museum, a beautiful stroll in a country park with a magnificent lunch in a hotel (complete with some interesting wildlife!). We suggest you try the wild boar main course if you’ve never had it before.
You will arrive having learned so much more about Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania than you would have from a train or plane window.
10/10 from us.
"Perfect "
I did the tour with Kätlin, who is really nice and told us a lot about Laheema and many interesting and fun facts!! She showed us many different places. The smoked salmon we had for lunch was excellent.
I recommend :)
"Travel tour Tallinn Riga"
Kathy was an excellent guide and explained very well all the beautiful sites we visited
"Pure awesomeness"
Beautiful views, many interesting stories from The Best Guide Ever Katlin ♡ that was one of my lifetime experiences.
"Exploring the Baltics with Katlin"
Our guide, Katlin, was super friendly and knowledgeable. She brought a lot of energy to the excursion and wove in stories from her own family to help bring the history alive for us. She helped us learn the Estonian sport of swinging! Even during the driving, she shared helpful information and projected her voice well so that people in the back of the van could hear her clearly. I found the stops on this tour a bit less interesting and enjoyable than the stops on the tour from Riga to Vilnius. Nothing to do with the guide -- it's just what was available to see on each tour.
"Fantastic tour!"
Had an amazing tour with Kätlin!
The weather was amazing, and the stops were well selected with the trip to Lahemaa Nation Park as an highlight, aswell as being served fantastic salmon by the seaside!
Well worth putting a day in Tallinn to the side to do this tour!
"Fun and imformative"
Great way to travel between Tallinn and Riga. It is beautiful country side and there are some great old towns and castle ruins to see. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, she made the day very fun.
"Great way to get from Riga to Tallinn learning more about the history and culture of Latvia and Estonia "
Kätlin was a great guide and driver. She told us about the history, geography and culture of Latvia and Estonia in a humorous way.
"Everything was perfect"
Very nice trip with walking in the bogs, visiting small villages on the seaside (we had lunch and museum visiting in one of them), two manor houses and a waterfall
"Excellent"
We were so pleased with our guide, admired her knowledge and sense of humour.
"Laheema"
Interesting day though somewhat dampened by the rain which came along just as we were walking the bog! Our guide Katrin however did her best to assist those less prepared by supplying additional umbrellas and offers of plastic ponchos.
The weather improved when we reached the fishing village and the scenery was beautiful.
Our lunch stop was enjoyable and a good chance for our group to get to know each other.
It was worth a trip out of Tallinn to see another side to Estonia and get a feel for local culture. This was particularly enhanced by our lovely guide whose obvious love of her country and indepth knowledge of both local history and plant life made it especially interesting.
"Fun, interesting and relaxing day"
Thank you so much Kätlin for making our day! Your kind, intelligent and relaxed way really impressed us :-)
"awesome guide"
I rarely leave reviews, but want to give a shout out to Katlin who was just awesome. She was warm, funny, informative, and a total pro.
In terms of the itinerary itself, I thought the military museum and/or the bobsleigh track could have been scratched in favour of having a bit more free time in Cēsis.
"Castes and caves, and a ghost"
What a fun tour. It was 12 hours long but didn’t feel like it at all. Lots of castles, and museums and a national park. Oh, and a bobsled track!
"Great ghost walking tour"
Wind and cold winter weather did not bother at all as we listened fascinating stories of Katleen (hope I got the name correct) at our private walking tour in the old town of Tallin. Great combination of ghosts, legends, history and life of today - just as we wished. And in the end of the tour nice cup of warm tea with beautiful view of the city, thank you!
"Tour to Paldiski"
Our guide was Kaitlin (sorry if I dont spell it correctly) and she was very friendly and knew a lot about the places we visited and the history of Estonia. 7 hours actually went fast and I think it was good that the tour had a mixture of beautiful nature and other more historic places. One big plus was when me and my family looked in an old photoalbum at the taverna in Paldiski, and we found our grandmothers old home at a picture :)
"A wonderful 5 hour car and walking tour"
Our family of four had a wonderful 5 hour car and walking tour with Katlin. We were met just outside the cruise gates and then proceeded to do a narrated walking tour of the old town. Next we drove in a brand new vehicle to see other areas just outside of town. Katlin was very knowledgeable and gave us great insight into Estonia and its people.
"Very informative and enjoyable"
Kaitlin gave us a wonderful 7 hour tour which was very informative and enjoyable. She is a wonderful guide.
"A very informative and interesting tour"
We really enjoyed the 7 hour tour with Katherine. She provided a very informative and interesting tour with a lot of history about Estonia and Tallinn. Cleveland, Ohio, USA
"Lots of interesting stories from our tour"
Me and my friend, we did the Laheema National Park tour two weeks ago and we really enjoyed it. Many thanks to our great tourguide Kätlin, who was really friendly and enthusiastic! She told us lots of interesting stories.
"A perfect day"
This is something everyone visiting Estonia should do! Our guide Kätlin was amazing, she was so nice and told us really interesting stories and facts during the trip. There were two other girls on the trip at the same time and it felt just if we were friends spending perfect Sunday together :) Thank you once again Kätlin! It was a perfect day!
"A wonderful tour to Lahemaa national park"
We had a wonderful tour to Lahemaa national park.
our guide Katlin was perfect , profesional and so good.
she knew all the answers to all the questions and we
would like to travel with her again on our next
trip to Tallinn
"Very professional tour company with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff."
In August 2015, we (4 adults) used Tallinn Traveller Tours to organize appx. 7 hr tour of Tallinn with Katlin. We had an excellent time! Tallinn Traveller Tours took the time to organize a private trip and answer countless of emails and questions. The company was able to organize a fantastic tour, according to what we wanted to see and learn about. Katlin was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and full of energy! Although our tour had officially ended, she still took us to one more place (the Song Festival Grounds) because she felt it was important for us to see this historical place. We were so grateful for this! Our tour included a van, which was new and clean. There were water bottles waiting for us in the van. During the tour, we decided not to go to one of the planned museums. The company refunded the money right away without any hassles and without us having to remind them. Overall, Tallinn Traveller Tours is a very professional tour company with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
